Story
Adri's story began in Puerto Rico when she was found abandoned alongside her mom and five siblings. Her devoted mom was doing everything she could to care for her puppies, even feeding them in the middle of the road. Thankfully, they were rescued and given the chance to grow up safe and loved. Now about 5 months old and weighing approximately 25 pounds, Adri is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves other dogs. She is very friendly, loving, and eager to please, and her obedient nature makes her a joy to work with. And let's talk about those ears!  Adri has mastered the adorable "one ear up, one ear down" look, and honestly, we're hoping she keeps it forever! Adri is still a young puppy, so she's ready for a family who will continue helping her learn, explore, and grow into the wonderful adult dog she's destined to become. She would love a home where she can have plenty of playtime, affection, and maybe even a canine sibling to keep her company. After such a difficult beginning, Adri is ready for the happy ending she deserves—a family of her very own. Adri will arrive in Albion, NY at the end of August and we would love to have a family waiting for her! * Please note: All dogs are rescues so we often do not know the actual breeds but use an educated guess to tell you what they most look like. Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. Story
Lizzy is a 3 year old Corgi. She gets along with dogs and cats. She will do best in a home with no small children. She is crate trained and working on housebreaking. She will make you laugh everyday. Lizzy is not at the shelter and is in a foster home.  Volunteers For Animals periodically pulls dogs from other shelters to free up space; this helps avoid euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals. We are able to do this through the generosity of many people such as the originating shelter staff, transporters, foster volunteers and others who help with pulling fees, vet bills and finding good homes once they are here.   The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the rescues animals can range from $100 to $450 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS.   If you are interested in any of the Rescue dogs, please Contact Us. Do not call the Shelter regarding rescue animals - they have no information about these dogs. All rescue animals are in foster homes with volunteers - NOT at the Shelter - unless otherwise noted.     Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $100 fee for any county animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.August 26, 2026, 7:16 am
