Story
We adopted Stryder as a kitten and have had him for 12 years during which time he was very friendly and enjoyable before we had our now 3 year old son. He has struggled since the arrival of a baby and is just fearful of young children (although he does do well with older children who are gentle). I am pregnant again and I don't believe we are the best home for him due to his increased anxiety around small children. He does have inflammatory bowel disease and has had extensive work up for this. He is not on any special medications but does better on a special diet (tiki cat wet food twice daily).

Story
Hey there! My name is Minka and boy do I have a story to tell! To say I have been through a few things in my short little life is an UNDERSTATEMENT! See when I was very young, I was left at the animal shelter, a very scary place for any furry baby but even more so for a little one like me! The people there noticed my front foot was a bit “wonky” as were my elbows, but the nice doctor said I was born this way though I could have told them that! So, the people set out to find me a special place to help me and that’s how I arrived in rescue, and I was so grateful to be in a home! I quickly made friends with my foster mates and things seemed to be going great for me till I got sick with what my foster mom says is FIP. She was very very concerned about me since it used to be thought of as fatal, but she wasn’t willing to at least try. Well, I am very happy, as is my foster mom, to say the treatment worked and I am officially cleared, I even took a test to prove it, though not a fan of those whatsoever, even if the vet techs love on me! Mom says I am now ready for my own castle so here I am on the “love me” site! I am a very petite girl for my age, apparently, the 5-month kittens are bigger than me but that’s no bother! I am full of personality and spunk and mom says I like to share my opinions. I am good at doing almost everything the other fosters do and love to be loved. I would do best in a quiet home with a gentle friend who doesn’t mind an occasionally rambunctious gal (I love to skootch as quickly as possible around the house!) and a family who will be able to give me lots of love, oh and brushing, I like brushing! Hope to meet you soon! My foster mom says I am spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. They say that’s good! I currently live with my foster family in Sacramento. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats (like me) with qualified adopters who will cherish me and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you’re my perfect adopter please explain why in the comments section of my Adoption Application, and contact Dayna at meandmyfosters@outlook.com If you are unable to reach Dayna please email info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!

Story
It used to be that a cat’s diagnosis of FIP was the worst of all news; it was 100% fatal. A research microbiologist tried a medicine being developed to fight Ebola and found it cured FIP. Though it was not yet FDA-approved cat lovers worldwide obtained this medicine and started saving the lives of their kitties. Sprinkles and Mickey were two of the very early “FIP Warriors” who were cured with this medicine. When Sprinkles suddenly had one of her big blue eyes turn brown, the eye vet said it was FIP. A friend knew someone treating a FIP cat with a new drug. Once on the medicine, Sprinkles got better immediately and has never looked back. When she was halfway thru her three-month treatment, we discovered Mickey had the same blood markers as hers. He was losing, not gaining weight. He, too, recovered. This process was so new that we were cautious and kept these bonded kitties under observation for over a year. Thousands of cats have been saved with this medicine, and its use is becoming routine. I have heard that UC Davis is working to get FDA approval so they can bring it to market. I hope so. These two kitties are a perfect bonded pair of opposites. Sprinkles is a smart, energetic, very interactive classic Siamese girl. Siamese kitties are called extroverts of the feline world. She is a shoulder-loving cat and is super affectionate. Mickey is quieter -more of an artist and poet, as is typical of Turkish Angoras. These gentle cats have delicate bones, fine silky easy care fur, and almond-shaped eyes. They are super sensitive, affectionate, and devoted to their people. Unsure about new situations and strangers, Mickey often looks to Sprinkles for reassurance. Sprinkles is the Curious, playful explorer, and Mickey is the Cautious, sensitive lover. Perfect. Both share a love of catnip and treats, bird feeders, windows, and climbing trees with high lookouts. Both are smart, funny, and entertaining. Both are very human-oriented and love to give and receive pets. Both need attention from their humans and are not good choices for people out all day at work. Mickey and Sprinkles are happy around other kitties. We don’t know how they are with dogs. ( Well, we can guess: Sprinkles will immediately set up the rules and Mickey will watch from the top of the climbing tree.) They would be fine with respectful older children. Some family will be so lucky to have their entertaining and loyal companionship. Sprinkles is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pets and create an ideal forever home.
