🐾💕 Meet Dixie — a little lady looking for a soft place to land! 💕🐾 Dixie is a 7–8-year-old dachshund mix and the smaller half of a very sweet duo. She may hang back for a moment when meeting a new dog, but once she feels comfortable, her affectionate side comes shining through. She’s a loving girl with plenty of kisses to give. 🐶 Dixie and her best friend Frankie were adopted together five years ago. Their owner’s health has made it impossible to continue caring for them, so both girls are coming back into rescue through no fault of their own. They’ve shared a home for years, and we’re hoping their next foster or forever family can welcome them together. ❤️ Dixie is housebroken, leash trained, knows basic commands, and is treat motivated. She has done well with children, cats, and other dogs. When meeting a new dog, she appreciates a little time to get acquainted; she warms up quickly. Raised voices can make Dixie and Frankie skittish, so a calm, patient home would help them settle in. Give Dixie a chance to feel safe, and you’ll get to know the sweet girl behind that initially reserved hello. 🥰 Dixie is spayed and vaccinated, and will be microchipped. Frankie is a 7–8-year-old dachshund mix who would love a soft bed, a kind voice, and a person to stay close to. She’s gentle, affectionate, generous with kisses, and very willing to work for a treat! 🐶 Five years ago, Frankie and her best friend Dixie were adopted together. Now their owner’s health has made it impossible to continue caring for them, so both girls are coming back into rescue through no fault of their own. They’ve spent those five years together, and we’re hoping to find a foster or forever home where they can stay side by side. ❤️ Frankie is housebroken, leash trained, and knows basic commands. She’s also treat motivated, which makes practicing what she knows—and learning something new—more fun for everyone. She has done well with children, cats, and other dogs.
