Story
I’m Avi. They say I’m a dachshund but I have these crazy long legs. I’m a little shy in the beginning but look out when I warm up. My foster says I must have had a good life at some point because I came with talents. Just check out my picture with me catching treats in the air! I enjoy going for walks and get along with other dogs. I’m an active 13 year old with no health issues. I came from a domestic violence and do best in a gentle and loving home. Story
JoJo BioHi world, I’m Mighty Joe Young but my fosters call me Sir Joseph or JoJo for short. I’m a dapper 12 year old dachshund mix and I unfortunately found my way into foster after my owner passed away but I don’t let that keep me down. I’m a spry senior gentleman with lots of life left to share with my new forever home! I weigh 13 lbs, am neutered and up to date on shots. I love walks in the park and do well on leash. I do great with other dogs and people but I get excited and like to bark at the cat. I loooove playing with squeaky toys and will bring them to you to play fetch. If you’re looking for a pint sized companion who’s house trained with good manners and medium to low energy then I’m your guy! I love to beg for snacks and keep my people company around the house, whether it’s doing chores or napping on the couch together. I can’t wait to meet you! Story
My name is Scrappy Doo, and my foster mom says I am the easiest dog she’s ever had in her home! I am housebroken and will sleep all night in a kennel without making a peep (although I’d probably really enjoy sleeping with my person). I’m friendly to other dogs and even though I’m just a little bit bigger than a typical lap dog, I love to sit on the couch and cuddle. I’ve adapted wonderfully to having 3 legs, and it doesn’t slow me down a bit. I like to play with squeaky toys and get around like a champ. I can’t wait to show my furever family what a great boy I am! Story
Rosie can't wait to take her freedom ride with you. In fact, she loves riding in the car so much, she'll probably want to sit on your lap on the way there.Once you get her home, she's very quiet around the house. She's only barked once while in foster. She's crate trained and mostly house trained. The first day in foster was the only time she had an accident, as she was adjusting to her new surroundings. She has been know to try to pee on things in the halls of the apartment though. If you tell her no and pull her along, she redirects easily. Once she gets spayed, that may help with things. She also knows how to sit.Rosie absolutely loves being petted and loved on. She's not one to lick you, but she'll come sit by you and nudge you if you stop petting her too soon. She does a great job sleeping in your bed won't move around much or wake you up. She'd love for you to put a blanket on top of the comforter, so she can get all snuggled up inside.Rosie loves stuffed animals, but rips them up in approximately 2 seconds, so I'd recommend getting her some toys for strong chewers. She gets possessive of stuffed animals, but not rubber toys. She can be redirected by grabbing the leash and saying "Let's go outside." She'll hop up immediately to go on a walk. She can also be possessive of dog chews, so give her some space when she has one.In general, Rosie has been extremely calm and laid back. She spends most of her time lounging on the couch and hasn't destroyed anything in the apartment. She doesn't react to other dogs around the complex and has done well when they want to meet her. She seems curious about other dogs in general, so she may do fine with a sibling, but I can't say for sure since she's been the only dog at my place. She has been on adventures to parks, dog friendly bars and pet stores and has done well at each place. She also does well with strangers wanting to come up and interact with her, although she may be a bit shy.
