Story
This handsome Dachshund 5 year old boy with the Ultra-Brite Smile is called Snickers and he just lost his home because his senior mom entered a nursing home on Wednesday 5/27.  All that Snickers needs in life right now is a new family/owner who will love getting up every morning to see his sweet happy face and to take him several times a day on a good walking/exercise program to trim down his round little 30 pound body..   Less pounds is more good life for a Dachshund and Snickers is at his prime time to change his food intake to higher quality and to get out and see the world from the end of a leash!   His former mom has been bedridden for over 3 years and he has not been taken on walks in all the time. Now Critter Cavalry Rescue is taking him in to their foster program and he is around other dogs, children who love him to pieces and a foster dad who walks him 3 times a day.  This boy will be the Tarzan of dog with a sleep and active body in no time.  He is housebroken and knows what a pee pad is just in case you need that extra time away.  He is crate trained and does so well on a leash too!   Snickers is resilient, happy to go wherever  you take him and is adjusting to all the new sights, sounds and people in his life.  He is curious about cats but won't chase.  He could be the only dog or live easily with another. We would love a Dachshund lover who is experienced with the breed to give Snickers a soft bed and a big heart filled with love as his next forever place to land.  If you are interested, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    When inquiring please tell us where you live!!!      PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 6, 2026, 11:18 am

Story
This adorable Wire-haired Dachshund is 5 years old and has the cutest whiskers and eyebrows ever going.  He is a calm and easy going 24 pounds boy that could stand to go on a reasonable diet and lots of daily walks during the week to slim down to a great weight for his long Dachshund body.  This boy is named Grins and he just lost his home because his senior mom entered a nursing home on Wednesday 5/27.  All that he needs in life right now is a new family/owner who will love getting up every morning to see his sweet happy face and to take him several times a day on a good walking/exercise program to trim down his extra pounds and get him to a good 20 pound body weight.  Less pounds means more good life for a Dachshund and Grins is at his prime time to change his food intake to higher quality.  He really needs to get out and see the world from the end of a leash!   His former mom has been bedridden for over 3 years and he has not been taken on walks in all the time. Now Critter Cavalry Rescue is taking him in to their foster program.  Grins might do best as the only dog in his new home.  He has a tendency to be bossy with other dogs sometimes.  It could be managed if he has a strong owner who knows how to be the boss in the house and not let Grins run the show.  He is in a foster now that has cats and he does great with them!.He is housebroken and knows what a pee pad is just in case you need that extra time away.  He is crate trained and does so well on a leash too!   Snickers is resilient, happy to go wherever  you take him and is adjusting to all the new sights, sounds and people in his life.  We would love a Dachshund lover who is experienced with the breed to give Grins a soft bed and a big heart filled with love as his next forever place.

Story
If ever there was a dog who deserved a fresh start, it is Lil NYX. This delightful little guy has finally escaped a difficult past and is now ready to begin the happy life he has always deserved. After spending months in a shelter waiting for someone to give him a chance, NYX is now in the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue, and we are determined to make sure his next chapter is filled with love, stability, and happiness. NYX's journey has not been an easy one. Through circumstances beyond his control, he found himself waiting in a shelter while his future remained uncertain. During that time, three different families expressed interest in adopting him, only to have their plans change. Each disappointment left shelter staff heartbroken because everyone who met NYX quickly fell in love with him. He was a favorite among the staff, who knew what a special dog he truly is. When he was finally cleared to move on and become available for adoption, there was genuine celebration among those who had been rooting for him all along. At just one year old and weighing 24 pounds, NYX is the perfect size for almost any home. He appears to have some Corgi and perhaps a little Beagle in his background, giving him an irresistibly adorable look to match his wonderful personality. He is a quiet dog who is not prone to barking, and he has proven himself to be easygoing, affectionate, and eager to please. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, enjoys children, walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and is already housebroken. With the exception of wanting to chase a cat his overall temperament is friendly, playful, and incredibly loving. The truth is that we struggle to find anything negative to say about this sweet boy. NYX has all the qualities people hope to find in a companion dog. He is the kind of loyal friend who will happily share your adventures, curl up beside you at the end of the day, and fill your home with joy and companionship. After everything he has been through, he deserves a family that will never let him down again.NYX is ready right now to leave his past behind and run straight into the life he was always meant to have. If you would like to learn more about him, ask questions, or request an adoption application, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. We have a feeling that the family lucky enough to adopt Lil NYX will wonder how they ever lived without him. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 6, 2026, 11:18 am
