🐕 Meet Maci Mae — The Tiny Boss with a Big Personality 🐕
Maci Mae is a spunky little dachshund/terrier mix who came to rescue as an owner surrender when her energetic, bossy personality proved to be a bit too much for the senior dog in her previous home. While she meant no harm, her “I’ll take that, thanks” approach to life (including meals 😅) and constant activity level weren’t the right fit for a quieter, medically fragile companion.
At around 15 lbs, Maci Mae is currently rocking a few extra pounds thanks to her talent for sneaking second servings—but she’s now on a strict “eat your own food and only your food” plan and is already on her way to a healthier, happier weight.
Don’t let her sass fool you—this girl is incredibly sweet. She loves to cuddle, happily gives kisses, and enjoys playing (especially with her buddy Silo). She’s got that classic terrier confidence and curiosity, which sometimes shows up as her deciding it’s “fun” to chase certain cats (looking at you, Bastet 👀). That said, she’s been wonderful with Sylna, the paralyzed kitten, which tells us her intentions are playful rather than anything more. She’ll do best with confident, dog-savvy cats or in a home where her playful curiosity can be redirected with structure and guidance.

If interested in meeting and potentially adopting, please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption can be finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175. All residents are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. A secure physically fenced yard is prioritized if a yard is present. Temperament cannot be and is not guaranteed.
