Because of that, he’s learned to rely on independence instead of people—and the idea of love and safety is still new to him. But underneath that cautious exterior is a tender heart just waiting for the right person to show him the world isn’t so scary.Lewis feels safest in the company of calm dogs and in the comfort of his kennel, where he can decompress and observe life at his own pace. He has an avoidant attachment style and needs time, patience, and gentle consistency to learn that humans can be kind. Loud voices, sudden movements, or physical corrections would shut him down completely—he needs a home rooted in softness and respect.He’s also a clever little escape artist, always thinking five steps ahead, so his future family will need secure fencing and a watchful eye. Don’t know if Puddles needs a bio refresh but my husband wrote that and it sums it up!Her official name is Puddles, but we call her Eldie. Long Duck Long Dog.She weighs 13 pounds but is somehow approximately six feet long. We haven’t measured; it’s obvious as soon as you see her. At 8 years old, Eldie knows what matters: burrowing under the covers, being close to her person, and DINNER. Dinner brings the happy wiggles and a mad dash to her bowl. She’s also an opportunistic sandwich thief, so govern yourself accordingly.Eldie has IVDD and some neurological issues with her hind end, giving her a running style we lovingly call “loose in the caboose.” She doesn’t always have perfect potty control either, so her person just needs to pay a little closer attention to when it’s time to go outside.She’s a smidge special needs, and she needs someone who can roll with that. She's incredibly laid back, rarely makes a peep, and is happiest spending her days napping nearby or simply enjoying your company. She gets along beautifully with people, other dogs, and even cats, making her an easy addition to just about any home.Tali does have a heart murmur and takes a daily heart medication, which she happily eats mixed into a little canned food.
