Her official name is Puddles, but we call her Eldie. Long Duck Long Dog.She weighs 13 pounds but is somehow approximately six feet long. We haven’t measured; it’s obvious as soon as you see her. At 8 years old, Eldie knows what matters: burrowing under the covers, being close to her person, and DINNER. Dinner brings the happy wiggles and a mad dash to her bowl. She’s also an opportunistic sandwich thief, so govern yourself accordingly.Eldie has IVDD and some neurological issues with her hind end, giving her a running style we lovingly call “loose in the caboose.” She doesn’t always have perfect potty control either, so her person just needs to pay a little closer attention to when it’s time to go outside.She’s a smidge special needs, and she needs someone who can roll with that. Panda is a sweet senior girl who never expected to be looking for a new family at this stage of her life. She had a home for her whole life, but when her owners had to move and could no longer keep her, everything familiar suddenly changed.Thankfully, Panda has adjusted beautifully and is showing us exactly what kind of little lady she is!She's laid back most of the time, loves being in your lap, and we've recently discovered that belly rubs are one of her very favorite things. She'll happily soak up the attention and remind you that senior dogs have perfected the art of being spoiled.Panda gets along with people and other dogs, although she does have opinions about personal space and isn't afraid to share them. She can be a little bossy with other dogs and prefers companions who don't mind letting her believe she's chairwoman of the household. She'll bark at cats but hasn't shown an interest in chasing them.She came to us without being reliably house trained, but Panda has been doing great with her potty training! She's making wonderful progress as she settles into a routine and learns what is expected of her.Her longtime companion, Tali, has already found her forever home. 😭 POOR BABIES!! 😭 Meet our two newest little seniors, Jasper and Claire. They come to us from the shelter after their owner was killed. They are estimated to be 7-8 years old and (at this early time) appear to be bonded. Jasper, the black one at 10 pounds, is the more nervous one who is clinging to Claire, the 7 pound tan one. They both are very loving and have been VERY well cared for. However, at this time, we want them to be adopted together. I know adopting seniors is harder than adults and puppies. Add to that they are a presumed bonded pair, which makes it double hard. And add the third fact that black dogs are often the last to get adopted, and you've got a triple whammy. 😮‍💨But.... We are still going to try our absolute best because they DESERVE this, after all they have just gone through. We have nationwide transport, so we can get these babies to the nearest major city to adopters. Chuey will be able to have surgery to correct his leg once his growth plates close, which should be in a couple of months. He is currently available for adoption, and if he finds his forever family before surgery, Sit Happens will still cover the cost of his surgery with Houston Mobile Veterinary Surgery when he’s ready. ❤️ The good news is that Chuey doesn’t seem to realize there’s anything wrong. 😂 He hasn’t shown signs of pain and he runs and gets around just like any other puppy. He’s super confident, loves meeting people and other dogs, and is always ready to play. One of his favorite things to do is throw his toys and balls up in the air and then chase after them. He also recently got professional photos done, and they turned out SO cute. 🥹📸 A huge thank you to AnandaJoy Photography! Orthopedic surgeries can cost rescues thousands of dollars, so Sit Happens is still looking for donations to help with Chuey’s surgery and the other dogs in their care.
