Her official name is Puddles, but we call her Eldie. Long Duck Long Dog.She weighs 13 pounds but is somehow approximately six feet long. We haven’t measured; it’s obvious as soon as you see her. At 8 years old, Eldie knows what matters: burrowing under the covers, being close to her person, and DINNER. Dinner brings the happy wiggles and a mad dash to her bowl. She’s also an opportunistic sandwich thief, so govern yourself accordingly.Eldie has IVDD and some neurological issues with her hind end, giving her a running style we lovingly call “loose in the caboose.” She doesn’t always have perfect potty control either, so her person just needs to pay a little closer attention to when it’s time to go outside.She’s a smidge special needs, and she needs someone who can roll with that. Panda is a sweet senior girl who never expected to be looking for a new family at this stage of her life. She had a home for her whole life, but when her owners had to move and could no longer keep her, everything familiar suddenly changed.Thankfully, Panda has adjusted beautifully and is showing us exactly what kind of little lady she is!She's laid back most of the time, loves being in your lap, and we've recently discovered that belly rubs are one of her very favorite things. She'll happily soak up the attention and remind you that senior dogs have perfected the art of being spoiled.Panda gets along with people and other dogs, although she does have opinions about personal space and isn't afraid to share them. She can be a little bossy with other dogs and prefers companions who don't mind letting her believe she's chairwoman of the household. She'll bark at cats but hasn't shown an interest in chasing them.She came to us without being reliably house trained, but Panda has been doing great with her potty training! She's making wonderful progress as she settles into a routine and learns what is expected of her.Her longtime companion, Tali, has already found her forever home. When we say Tubs is a good boy, we mean it! He is so relaxed, and is happy just being present with his humans. A security guard in his past life, he enjoys checking the house perimeter...multiple times...every day. And no, not outside...inside. This goof ball will also waddle behind you like a true duckling, just to see what your doing and hoping its grabbing him a treat. As a certified snuggler, he will lay right next to you, and occasionally on top of you, just to get some cuddles before bed. But don't let his squatty body fool you, he's got hops, especially when it comes to getting into bed. Tubs is happy to go where his bed is, even in a kennel. Tubs has a tendency to chug his water, and we have placed him on a scheduled water intake to help him better control his water. We have seen progress with his water intake since we have started this, and hope to see continued improvement so it no longer needs to be scheduled. Tubs also struggles to hold his bladder for extended periods, 6-8+ hours. We have gotten bloodwork, CBC, and urinalysis for Tubs and it all came back normal! This handsome fella has truly tugged at our heartstrings already, and we're sure he will do the same to someone who doesn't mind a senior bulldog that does perimeter checks, pretends to be a duckling, and enjoys a good cuddle.
