Story
Meet Mr. Moo (Moo-llennium Crunch) who can't do much crunching because of how few teeth he has, but he can give lots of licks! This sweet boy was at the shelter in Waco and nobody came for him. Yes, he needs a dental and heartworm treatment, but both of those things are fixable. Moo has a great personality and was so excited to be rescued that he jumped in the driver's seat as if to say "I'm ready to go!". He is great with other other dogs.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
This 12-year-old sweetheart is the definition of gentle resilience. Kendra was recently pulled from the shelter just in time, and despite everything she’s been through, her tail still wags every time you look at her. She’s calm, cuddly, and loves nothing more than curling up in your lap or catching a cozy nap. While she’s mostly a laid-back girl, she does enjoy a little playtime with her foster sibling — age is just a number to her! She’s also potty trained and has a big appetite — we’re pretty sure she dreams about food when she sleeps. We truly believe that once her medical issues are addressed, Kendra will fully come out of her shell. Right now, the tumor on her leg seems to be causing her significant pain, which has made her a bit less active. But even so, you can already sense there’s a bright, playful personality just waiting to shine through — it’s bubbling right beneath the surface.During her intake exam, several concerning masses were found throughout her body — including her abdomen, mammary chain, and an ulcerated growth on her front leg that may be mast cell. Cytology has been sent for confirmation, and if it is mast cell, we’ll begin medical management to shrink it before surgery, as there isn’t currently enough skin to safely close the wound post-removal.In addition to the masses, Kendra has dental disease, plaque buildup, and missing teeth, which make eating a bit difficult. She’s currently enjoying a diet of softened kibble and wet food to keep her comfortable.Through it all, Kendra remains unbelievably sweet, trusting, and full of love. She’s now available for pre-adoption while we await her histopathology results. Once we’ve consulted with our veterinary team and finalized her treatment plan, she’ll be ready to head to her forever home — one filled with love, patience, and plenty of snacks. If you’re looking for a gentle soul to share your heart and home with, Kendra might just be your girl.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
