Story
Meet Sweetie – A True Gentle SoulSweetie lives up to her name in every way. She’s a quiet, tender-hearted girl who enjoys the simple comforts of life: a cozy bed, soft food, and a calm, loving home.Sweetie recently lost her beloved mom and, through no fault of her own, found herself without a family. She’s adjusting to this big life change with grace and resilience, and she’s ready to find someone who will let her love at her own pace. She’s potty trained, enjoys the company of other dogs and even cats, but she’d thrive best as the center of attention in a peaceful home. She loves chicken and requires soft food due to dental issues. Too much attention too fast can make her anxious, but give her time and patience, and she’ll reward you with quiet companionship and loyalty—following you from room to room like a little shadow.Sweetie has a heart murmur and an enlarged heart, so she is on daily medication and will need ongoing care to keep her comfortable and healthy. Her medical needs don’t hold her back from enjoying life—she just needs someone who can offer a little extra TLC.She finds comfort in her kennel when overwhelmed and prefers a calm home with a gentle routine. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful companion who will love you deeply once she feels safe, Sweetie is your girl.Apply today and help Sweetie start the next, happiest chapter of her life.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. Story
Meet Mr. Moo (Moo-llennium Crunch) who can't do much crunching because of how few teeth he has, but he can give lots of licks! This sweet boy was at the shelter in Waco and nobody came for him. Yes, he needs a dental and heartworm treatment, but both of those things are fixable. Moo has a great personality and was so excited to be rescued that he jumped in the driver's seat as if to say "I'm ready to go!". He is great with other other dogs.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. Story
Shaggy and Sweetie never imagined that there life would crumble one day through nobody's fault - their beloved Mom passed away and that left them without a home. They are use to cuddles, soft beds, and good food - let's make sure they get to experience that again! These two cuties know their names :)Although they have lived together their whole lives and would make a great duo for someone to adopt, they also seem to do well on their own and could be adopted separately. At around 14 years old and just 10 lbs, Shaggy is the definition of a gentle soul. His world was turned upside down when his beloved mom passed away, leaving him without the cozy home, warm laps, and soft beds he was so used to. 💔But even through heartbreak, Shaggy reminds us what resilience looks like. He’s currently being treated for a yeast infection on his skin, which means regular baths and meds—but this little champ takes it all in stride with his calm, easygoing spirit. 🛁💊Despite his age, Shaggy still has a spunky side! He loves to explore room to room, happily following you around or curling up next to you on the couch. He’s loving, sweet, and adores being with his people. 💕✨ A few things to know about Shaggy:– Potty trained ✔️– Loves treats and mealtime (he eats soft food only...no teef!) 🍽️– Gets along with dogs of all sizes and even cats 🐾Shaggy wants nothing more than a peaceful place to call home, with someone who sees the beauty in a golden-hearted senior.💛If you’re looking for a quiet companion who just wants to be near you and soak up love, Shaggy might be your perfect match!💌To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. Story
Buddy is a smart, sweet, loving, and energetic 1-year old puppy who is looking for a new forever home due to owner illness. He is crate trained and potty trained using potty pads. He walks on a leash and knows some commands. He is a fast learner so training and consistency will help him become his best self. We are seniors and have received a diagnosis of a terminal illness that prevents us from giving Buddy all the attention he deserves. We think he will be better served in a home where he can receive positive attention, consistency, and love. He is very loyal, a good watch dog, and we are sad to rehome Buddy and will help make the transition as easy as possible.
