Story
Pssst it’s me, Koda. Yup. Still here. Shocking, I know. Why? Well. People think they want a Dalmatian until they meet one. I have a LOT of energy. Like, so much energy it’s hard to keep weight on me. I also need a home with another higher energy pup to be my friend, and NO CATS. Also, no other small creatures I could chase. I need a yard, and preferably humans who want to go for runs, hikes, or some other type of adventure with me. That energy, you know? It would be best if my forever people were familiar with Dalmatians, our nutritional requirements, and common medical issues as well. I need to remain on a low purine diet, please. Lastly, if you don’t have any pups but are open to two…. I do have a bestie. Her name is Paige and we have the best time together. She’s a mixed breed little lady and I love her to bits. We could be a package deal 😉 Are you my perfect match? Fill out an adoption application here: www.viva-nm.org My adoption fee is $250, and if you want Paige too there could potentially be a multi pup discount. If you don’t think we’re a match, please share this post. Maybe one of your friends will be the one! I’m in boarding because I don’t have a foster home, so if you could donate toward that cost it would be GREATLY appreciated. The rescue ladies get stressed about $ often, and it would help a lot!

Story
Hi! I am Harley, a two-three year old girl. I came from Valencia county shelter in Los Lunas, New Mexico, and am learning all kinds of new things here now that I live in a house. I have learned that pee goes outside and I am very good at that. My foster mom calls that housebreaking but I would never break anything in the house. I love other dogs, kids and humans of every persuasion. But I have never met a cat. I like to chase lizards so does that mean I would like to chase cats?? I don’t know. FM’s other rescues have been able to be taught to live nicely with kitties but no guarantees from me. I am very nicely behaved in the house and have quickly grown to love snoozing on the couch or lying on the cold tile when I am hot. I sit now and take treats gently. I zoom into my box (crate) when mom says, “go to your box”. I usually get a cookie paycheck for that. At night, I sleep in the bedroom with my FM and brothers and sisters. All six of us get on the bed for nighttime cuddles. I start out on mom’s bed, and I like to set my head on her shoulder. When I get hot or tired of my mom’s tossing, I move to a bed on the floor. I like to sleep in a bit in the morning if I can but I am also great at rise and shine at 5:30 am. Then it’s outside for my constitutional, some running, lizard watching, and sniffing. We like back I bed for morning cuddles too, if there is time. Then breakfast! Breakfast, the mostest bestest time ever! I get two cups of kibble a day, and many days, some goodies like Kefir, cottage cheese, milk thistle, salmon oil, blueberries, watermelon, green beans or whatever FM has in the fridge. I LOVE my food but I sit until FM sets it down and says okay before I get up to eat. I am a lady and ladies have manners. I know how to do some smart stuff. I know sit, lie down, come, go to your box, leave it, get it, give me a kiss, hush, gentle, and a few more, but, according to my FM, I am pretty bad at stay. We are working on it but at this moment, I think stay means get to FM as fast as I can go. My FM has taught me inside manners but I still need work on my outside manners. I think going to dog school would be fun- anything I get to do with you would be fun! And at school I could learn to walk calmly on a leash. I need exercise as any young dog does. You can throw my ball or take me out for a walkabout. I like to chase my foster brother around the yard and play the chew and bite game when we wrestle and run around. Some boring stuff. I am spayed and UTD on vaccines. I am heartworm negative and have my very own microchip. I am healthy and happy and want my very own family to go with my microchip. I will be a good girl, promise. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My adoption fee is $400.00 to cover all my medical expenses. Please call me but ask to talk to my FM, Lyn.
