Story
Hallo Mate!!! I am the EPITOME of Australian Kelpie dogs, smart and agreeable, loving and playful, driven and very treat oriented! And I am a GREAT size!! Now, my life has not always been AWESOME BLOSSOM, if you know what I mean?? I was found in the valley with basically NO HAIR, but a magnetic and charming personality that won over a nice lady who saved me!!! AND my charm won over the rescuer in San Antonio who took a chance on me, and I won the doggy lottery!! I mean, look at me now!! I am a hairy boy, with meat on my bones and love in my heart! READY to take the plunge with my FUREVER family!! I am super smart and need an active family. I will do anything you want me to, if it is followed by the treats I love! :) And I will make some great arm candy when you are out on the trails, or at the beach or in the mountains... or all three! ADOPT ME!!! I will keep you company wherever you go!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Onyx is 1 year old neutered male Dalmatian/Hound Mix. He is a very exuberant and friendly guy. He is playful and loves other dogs. Onyx is crate trained. He will be starting the PTH program 4/9/24. Volunteers For Animals and Orleans Correctional Facility have developed a Dog Training & Fostering Program within the prison that will provide socialization and basic obedience training for the dogs before being adopted. Volunteers For Animals will be pulling dogs from high kill shelters and locally who may be in need of behavioral support to become more adoptable. The dogs will then be transported to Orleans Correctional Facility where they will live with selected inmates who will care for them 24 hours per day for approximately 12 weeks. Each dog will have a crate, bedding, leash, collar, training treats, and food provided by Volunteers For Animals. A certified dog trainer will provide weekly training classes for the dogs and the inmates. The inmates will then work daily to reinforce the formal training with the dogs. Adoption Procedures The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the Path Home animals are $200 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. All of the dogs are current on vaccines, heart worm tested and spayed/neutered. If you would like to be considered for any of the Path to Home dogs, please email us. Please do not call the Shelter regarding Path Home animals - they do not have any information. Email us at info@vol4animals.org regarding this program.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.April 18, 2024, 2:24 pm

Story
First things first, I absolutely love this dog. He is such a sweetheart. He does not get along with my other dog at all. I have been trying to acclimate them, but as time goes on, they become more and more aggressive to eachother. PONGO is a very affectionate dog, and becomes very possessive and jealous. He truly needs a home where he is the only dog, preferably the only pet. He is a fantastic pup, and I wish so badly that I could keep him, as he is such a sweet little guy. He is fixed, shots up to date, house trained, very intelligent, and loves to snuggle. He will be missed so much, and I am balling like a baby just writing this. I really want to find the perfect home for this guy. Adoption fee negotiable
