Story
In Need of a Happy EndingZuki comes to us after she and another dog were left behind with another family member, without their consent. Their involuntary caregiver was trying to do the right thing for the dogs, making sure they continued to receive care, food and a place to call home- but already a lone, full-time caregiver to an ailing family member- it was just too much for one person to handle. She reached out to our Diversion Intake Coordinator in desperation for guidance- who worked in partnership with our Animal Control Officers. Now she is looking for her forever home where she will be safe, loved and cared for the rest of her life! Since she`s been with us, Zuki has been easy to leash and walks very well on her leash! She met a similarly sized neutered male while both on leash with no issues. She was very friendly and calm with her new friend, walking right up to him, with a wagging tail, all over sniffs from both to one another and then they went their own ways. She is a real sweetheart and we know she also got along great with her former housemate/canine friend! We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit. We do not have information on how she does with cats and have no way to test for this. Please come and meet Zuki in person to learn all about her and see if she is meant to be part of your family! Please help us to find this sweet girl the ending to her story that she deserves! If you can provide Zuki with forever, please come and meet her in person at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville. Please bring a collar and leash OR purchase a combo from us for only $15 to safely take your new family member home safely. Adoption Hours:• Mon–Fri: 12–5pm• Sat: 11am–2pmAdoption fee is $80- but now through end of day, August 15, 2026 is only $40! All adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. This is Bailey. She is 6 months old and she came from a litter that my dog had. She has had her first round of shots and has been dewormed. I am just looking for a loving, caring home. Bailey is so very sweet and basically a little princess! As you can see this is her favorite pose!

Story
Ollie is from a litter of puppies my dog had! Ollie is the sweetest wiggly boy you will ever meet! He is always so excited to play and is so incredibly patient when waiting for his food or to be let out of his kennel! I think anyone would be so incredibly lucky to have him as a new addition in their family!

Story
Found as a stray who was never claimed, it would seem that she had been previously abused. She was first adopted by an elderly lady who said that she was afraid of her cane at first. She became comfortable and happy at her house, only this elderly lady is now in hospice care and needs to rehome her. Except for going to the vet's offices, Chelsea is not accustomed to being away from the lady's house..She has enjoyed playing with other foster dogs, but occasionally, can be bossy and dominant with them. She is initially skittish and shy, but warms quickly. As such, she would be a flight risk, so would recommend double-leashing her and having a secure, fenced yard. She loves to run back inside for a treat; is well crate-trained....Although she enjoys sleeping with someone, more recently, she has slept in her crate.....is very food and treat motivated. Is an even prettier dog in person, who deserves a lot of love... NO YOUNG CHILDREN. FENCED YARD REQUIRED; VET'S REFERENCE REQUIRED.August 17, 2026, 2:58 pm
