Meet Lulu! Lulu is a very beautiful 1-year-old mixed-breed girl who came to Lucky’s Place from a shelter in New Mexico, where she was considered high risk because her time was running out. We’re very glad this sweet girl got another chance, because now that she’s here, we’re getting to know just how much she has to offer.Lulu is young, affectionate, and has a nice medium energy level. She enjoys getting outside and exploring, and at just a year old, she has so many years ahead of her to spend walking, playing, learning, and simply being part of someone’s everyday life.She also comes with quite a few things already figured out. Lulu is house trained and crate trained, and she has done well with other dogs, cats, children, and seniors. She’s pictured hanging out comfortably with one of her canine friends here at the shelter, and it’s always nice to see a young dog showing us that social side of herself.One area where Lulu will need some help is leash walking. She hasn’t learned yet that a leash means walking with her person rather than forging ahead, and car travel isn’t currently her favorite thing either. Those are things a patient family can continue working on with her as she settles into life outside the shelter. As young and smart as she is, we think she will pick up leash walking quickly and soon understand travel doesn't mean she's being taken to a shelter. What matters most is that Lulu has been given the opportunity she almost didn’t have, the chance to find the people who will love her for all the years still ahead.Her time was running out in New Mexico. Now, instead of counting down days, Lulu gets to wait for the day her family walks through our door.
