They call me Chestnut! My siblings, mom and I all came to Wags and Whiskers together when our family had to change homes, and said we couldn't come with them. Lucky for us, Wags and Whiskers stepped up and has kept us safe, vetted, and promised my mom she'd never have to raise more siblings of mine again! Most of my siblings have found their homes now, but I'm still looking! Everyone says that I'm very handsome, and a quick learner! I'm super treat motivated, so I'll try my best to do whatever you want, so I can get nummy treats, that means I'm easy to train! Staff here say that even though I'm a bigger breed, I'm really a big baby; I guess I don't stand my ground against other dogs much, I'm just a big softy, what can I say! All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home. Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.
