Story
Chico Diablo - is a stunning black and tan Doberman with cropped ears and a docked tail. He is lean, muscular and athletic - enjoys playing with balls and being outside. He will bark at noises, alarms/sirens and people outside of his property. He is affectionate with his foster family and clingy, pushes for attention and affection. Crate trained and sleeps in a crate overnight. Chico is leash trained and knows basic commands. Chico responds to verbal commands. This sweet and spicy Doberman is a family pet and will thrive in the right home. He wants affection, is house trained, crate trained, leash trained and enjoys a fenced in yard to exercise. A home with another dog (medium to large, female) would be comforting to Chico but not necessary. Video(s) https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1BPbijPQYh/ https://youtube.com/shorts/oOiOR44tgjM?si=plepzXeU9X5Uk1A8 Chico came to rescue with some baggage; he was grieving a lost home and confused at the shelter. Shelter staff noted he was 'nippy' and would avoid being petted. Chico uses his teeth without puncturing skin to ask for space when his collar was grabbed. Rescue agreed to give him time to decompress in a home, in his own space (crate) and with slow intros (every dog needs this!). Chico was walked out of the shelter, leaned on his foster and responded to verbal commands. We noted he would snap when his collar was pulled - a sign to us in our experience that abusive handling or improper use of a prong collar was applied on him. We moved him to secure fitted tactical collar and started working with him on touching his neck, pulling gently on the collar and reaching for the collar. Chico is trusting of people but would need confident owners to create boundaries for his safety (no board and training, muzzle during vet visits for strangers to poke him, mindful of who is around). Due to Chico's reactivity to being pull/grabbed by the collar - we do not recommend a home with small children. Chico is being self-protective and not aggressive in his reaction, but we do not want a child harmed or afraid of him. Chico is sensitive to yelling and not a dominate personality. Chico is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm treated and on prevention. Now at a healthy weight, shiny coat and food motivated. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. We quickly learned that the two male Dobermans did not like each other and were separated (both tagged and brought to rescue). Chico was fearful at first, barks and protects himself by backing up and growling. He was given time to decompress, trust and see the routine (crated in a bedroom for quiet, led by a leash to the backyard). Chico was paired up to a young male shepherd, confident female dogs for playtime. He will "fence fight" (run up to a barrier to growl/bark/push) another male - without barrier, he will back down and not engage but continue to growl and bark. Due to this repeated reaction to other larger male dogs, we do not recommend dog parks or a home with another male. He is submissive/gentle and playful with female dogs. Due to stress, Chico was underweight when he came to rescue. Not tested with cats or small animals.

Story
Elf freezes and tries not to move when attention is put on him, we know he plays with toys and helps make a mess in the water dish, but he's not been caught in action yet. Elf is a shy baby. He enjoys napping on pillows or dog beds, playing with any toy that squeaks or has a crunchy sound. Elf follows the other dogs and explores as far as his siblings go. He looks for and perks up when he sees dogs. He is being socialized with various dogs in his foster home. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email with Questions or for Adoption Application - Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org Adoption Application LINK: https://forms.gle/33ciYyXPTL18FfnV6 HIS-STORY: From 8 weeks to 12 weeks; Elf was in a foster home being Quarantined (no outside, no other dogs) to address persistent intestinal worms, upper respiratory infection and low body weight. Elf did well eating and after rounds of medication, gained weight and started to thrive. He and his litter then started meeting new [vaccinated] adult dogs to play with. House training is slow due to the initial quarantine (play pen in a designated room of a foster home); the puppies lived outside covered in fleas without shelter when ACO found them. Adopters should have supervised outside time to reinforce potty training without the puppy feeling abandoned. Elf had an extensive exam with X Rays on 12-15-25 which revealed no abnormalities. He had been constipated and as the RUNT of the group, his foster was concerned. Elf does have HUGE paws and as he has grown, he appears a bit bow-legged. DUE TO AGE and medical care (Quarantine, repeat parvo testing, X-Rays, Medicine) the puppy adoption fee applies to this pet. Elf is guessed to be 14 weeks old. Neuter includes corrective surgery of umbilical hernia. We have not done DNA testing. CCR will not crop ears. Tail had been docked. --------------------------------------------------- See more Photos, Videos and Updates on Social Media Facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX Instagram @CaffeinatedCanineRescue --------------------------------------------------- Animal Control conducted a cruelty investigation on a property and found multiple sets of Doberman litters, various ages. CCR took care of all 8 Dobermans removed from the home. Elf and Elsa were the youngest (both blacks, about 8 weeks when brought to rescue). These puppies were clearly not handled as babies. They ran from people, hid under furniture. INTAKE VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/voZpYVmWhYI?si=oJ9sK7WtxnneonWF Doberman puppies can and will socialize to people, being held and bond even if ignored as babies. They are held by our fosters - fed by hand and given medication orally, held for nail trims. They did not growl or resist being held, just not as needy as typical dobie puppies who want to be carried like babies. Fostering Saved These Puppies Lives. The Shelter could not provide the medical care the babies required.

Story
She prefers action movies to romantic comedies. Jumping into a pond or climbing a mountain is more entertaining than shopping. Our city girl was found as a stray near the airport. Fostered in the country and enjoying the freedoms of rural living. She’s been exposed to horses, chickens. She appears to be a Doberman mix with a docked tail and course coat. About 5 years old and 50 lbs. Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, on prevention. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email with Questions or for Adoption Application - Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org Adoption Application LINK: https://forms.gle/33ciYyXPTL18FfnV6 --------------------------------------------------- See more Photos, Videos and Updates on Social Media Facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX Instagram @CaffeinatedCanineRescue --------------------------------------------------- She was seen on the streets of Houston for a few weeks and thanks to Facebook, she was located and picked up. She did not have a microchip and after weeks of social media postings, we do not suspect anyone is looking for her - a Doberman loving family got her to rescue. She tested positive for hookworms and heartworms; treated now testing negative. Her body has clearly had puppies before and she has scars on her head, front teeth worn down (common finding for dogs chewing chains or rocks) Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/9YmOfCchEWc?feature=shared

Story
~*~*~ FOSTERED IN TEXAS ~*~*~ Frankie was the biggest in his litter - confident, ready to explore and curious. He only sleeps on pillows or dog beds, plays with toys and chews on bones. He was the first to learn how to climb out of his playpen and follow the humans around. He is being socialized with various dogs in his foster home. He is estimated to be 16 weeks old (4 months old) as of Christmas. He has a linear scar across his chest, the origin of this scar is unknown, it was healed when he came to rescue. HIS-STORY: From 12 weeks to 16 weeks; Frankie was in a foster home being Quarantined (no outside, no other dogs) to address persistent intestinal worms, upper respiratory infection and low body weight. Frankie looked BLOATED due to the worms, but was in fact underweight. He and his litter then started meeting new [vaccinated] adult dogs to play with after being medicated. House training is slow due to the initial quarantine (play pen in a designated room of a foster home); the puppies lived outside covered in fleas without shelter when ACO found them. Adopters should have supervised outside time to reinforce potty training without the puppy feeling abandoned. DUE TO AGE and medical care (Quarantine, repeat parvo testing, Medicine) the puppy adoption fee applies to this pet. Frankie is guessed to be 16 weeks old. His tail was docked by prior Owners. He has been neutered by rescue and mircochipped, on prevention. Rescue does not do DNA / genetic testing. Story
Dominic started the summer couch surfing or patio lounging - no microchip, no collar and not recognized by local families. He is guessed to be 4 years old and loves everyone! He gets along with other dogs, other big males and small dogs too. He is crate trained, now neutered, heartworm treated and on prevention. Dominic is black and tan, docked tail and floppy natural Doberman ears. He last weighted in at 68 lbs and enjoys running the yard at this foster home. He is around children and has never met a stranger, quiet and not a good guard or alert dog - Dominic is here for the PARTY, like a college kid, not currently seeking a job just hoping to get along by his good looks and muscles. ...He will chase a cat, obsess over the cat's whereabouts so a home without one might be best. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes transport options to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email to Apply! He was immediately friendly to everyone he encountered. He and Dustin lounged around on pool patios and waited for someone to find them a foster home.
