Story
Koda turned 4 in February. He is a natural Doberman meaning full tail and floppy soft ears. He is a REALLY sweet boy, loves to cuddle and lay in bed with his people while he’s not exploring the backyard and guarding his home. 6 ft tall fenced yard is a must, he will jump a 4 ft.Koda loves to lick your face and give you kisses often!Even at 4 yo he is very excitable and does not know his own size. He thinks every lap is for curling up in!Koda is smart. He taught himself to ring a bell to go outside by watching our older dog do it!He has sensitive skin with a few hot spots periodically.Koda respects our 7 year old chihuahua’s space and plays well with his littermate Kallie who is also up for adoption. Koda has historically not done well with other dogs though.Koda will flourish with more training and patient owners who will give him all the love he deserves!

Story
Kallie turned 4 in February. She is up for adoption with her brother Koda as a bonded pair. She is shy but sweet and spunky. Kallie is what they call a natural Doberman, so soft floppy ears and a full tail, which is actually curly! Kallie has gotten along with other dogs in the house but was extremely shy when we used to go to the dog park. She prefers her brother as a playmate over other dogs. Kallie has completed a basic obedience course and knows Sit, Stay, and Come. Kallie is not quite as cuddly as Koda but she does love to be hugged (while she is standing up). Kallie is on a daily powder probiotic and cannot handle human food besides bananas, plain pumpkin puree and white rice.

Story
Belle, like any doberman, is high energy and loving. Sheneeds to be able to run, run, run & loves attention. However, she is also very dominent and needs leash trained (she is a puller) and has anxiety on car rides (constant whining). She has not been around children. She has been around numerous dogs in our family and loves to play with them. She does not run away when off leash. We recently moved to a subdivision and our small yard is not sufficient for her to run. The activity in the subdivision, (people, dogs, children playing, etc) causes her to bark a lot as well. She has always had a dog door and comes and goes as she pleases and is house trained. We have had her since she was 2, and enjoyed her immensly when we had 3 acres fenced for her to run. A large piece of property would be best for her, and to be loved and trained. She has a lump, that is calcium build-up and according to our vet, is non-life threatening and no need to operate.

Story
Meet Prince!Prince is a 79lb, 1-year-old, Shepherd mix was found wandering the streets alongside his brother, Charming, before the two were brought safely to the shelter. While Charming tends to be the more outgoing of the pair, Prince is the quieter, more sensitive one—he likes to take his time getting comfortable and figuring out that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.At first, Prince may hang back and observe, but with a little patience and kindness, his sweet personality starts to shine through. He’s not quite sure what to make of toys yet, but he absolutely loves to run and bounce around once he feels safe, showing off his playful, puppy-like energy. Prince also seems curious about other dogs and could really benefit from a confident canine companion to help show him the ropes. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!
