Story
Petty, aka "Max" is a lovable young senior dog looking for a retired or work-at-home human/family to share the rest of his life with. He has been three-legged since aged two, has learned to adapt all his daily activities, and travels very well. After 3 months in foster care, Max has learned to play with other dogs! He still has limitations, but he loves to roll on the ground to gently wrestle with his foster siblings. Daily walking has given him additional strength in his legs. He can climb and run with the best of them. He can still slip if not careful, and he is not a fan of very cold weather. He has to be coaxed out the door or just walked on leash in sleet or cold rain. Temperatures above 50 will get him outdoors in any kind of weather. Max is such a social guy that he prefers to be with his humans or dogs rather than alone. He does not chew on anything but food, and is highly food motivated. He is also very human oriented, but followed the lead of his foster brother when he learned new house rules. He walks extremely well, but pulls on occasion when squirrels or rabbits are nearby. He walks fine with a Gentle Leader, but his gait is hopped, so his owner needs to be someone with good balance. He loves to be outdoors and walk on leash. A medium-sized fenced yard would be an additional bonus for this dog as he is an active and young senior.Having said that, Max would also be a wonderful companion dog and fellow couch potato at night. He seems to be much more Chocolate Lab than Red Doberman, with a strong lab lean, and would love to lie on the couch next to a human. He does not sit on laps, but would love to be on the bed sleeping next to his human. I would not expect him to break that habit easily (although he is trying). Max will also counter-surf if he can get away with it. Having lost his last owner, Max does have some minor anxiety issues over separation, and does not enjoy being crated. He is not destructive, though, and tolerates being confined to a room with music and his foster brother when the humans are gone from the house. He has no toileting issues doing his business outside, and sleeps very well at night. He knows many commands, and will give a bark when someone approaches the house or yard. He infrequently can give off an aura which can intimidate some less secure dogs, but really he is a loving goofball, and has done very well with dogs, kids and toddlers at the local Farmers' Market and adoption events. He loves meeting people! Max would love to have a stable home with an active adult/family to spend his senior years. He is very healthy, loves being groomed, and getting attention, affection, and slow but steady exercise. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Jimmy Durian was beat up and very shutdown when we met him - he was very sick and underweight, he had been in survival mode outside with his siblings before Animal Control Officers found them. Once in a foster home, Jimmy was crate trained and liked sleeping curled up in his own space. Jimmy is passive and got picked on frequently by bigger male dogs so he was paired up with happy female dogs to play and help him gain confidence. As Jimmy played and had outside time, he gained muscle and started to heal. He would love a dog friend to keep him company as a shy dog - eventually he realized cuddles by humans were just as desirable. Jimmy is overwhelmed by being in public space and lays down when put on a leash. Facebook Reel: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1X9KpiuDR9/ Seeking a family to continue to socialize this sweet Boy. Now neutered, Up to Date on Vaccines, Microchipped, Testing Negative for Heartworms and on Preventions. His current weight is 65 lbs, he is tall and lean. Story
Chandler Goose's Story Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor - he does well confined to a room or large kennel run. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 3 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 85 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. Goose reacts out of insecurity - he requires a confident human. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/UNgh6IvlV8U?si=i-Q9xYtOpNeCRWga Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. Adoption Fee ($650.00) includes XL crate fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Adoption Fee reflects the need for an XL crate at travel. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.

Story
Joey Dion is a no-nonsense kind of dude, if he wore jeans - they would be heavily starched. Just shy of 2 years-old an all natural red Doberman with a cautious side, he enjoys being part of a pack and playing hard. He pancakes in new situations outside of his foster home, Joey stays quiet -no growling, no barking- and stares at new things and people. When he warms up, he is bossy and vocal, barking for attention. Joey can be too rough with smaller dogs and too assertive for male dogs. He loves being outside, sniffing and running. Crate trained. Seeking a family to continue to socialize this Texas boy. Now neutered, Up to Date on Vaccines, Microchipped, Testing Negative for Heartworms and on Preventions. Story
She prefers action movies to romantic comedies. Jumping into a pond or climbing a mountain is more entertaining than shopping. Our city girl was found as a stray near the airport. Fostered in the country and enjoying the freedoms of rural living. She’s been exposed to horses, chickens. She appears to be a Doberman mix with a docked tail and course coat. About 5 years old and 50 lbs. Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, on prevention. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. She did not have a microchip and after weeks of social media postings, we do not suspect anyone is looking for her - a Doberman loving family got her to rescue. She tested positive for hookworms and heartworms; treated now testing negative. Her body has clearly had puppies before and she has scars on her head, front teeth worn down (common finding for dogs chewing chains or rocks) Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/9YmOfCchEWc?feature=shared

Story
Deepali needed a miracle, a mama dog on a border town in south Texas - she was skinny with skin infections, heartworms and a bouncy twitch to her walk. Once in Houston, she learned her foster home routine quickly and enjoys snuggling into a donut dog bed in her crate along with a big bucket for nibbling on kibble when she wants. Deepali resource guards food and has a fierce growl over food but is only 42 lbs and panics if dogs challenger her. { She's all bark, no Fight } Based on history of the region, X-Rays and observed coordination - Our team and Vet partners suspect; she is a survivor of distemper. A virus that leaves dogs with permanent nervous system damage if they survive. We did X-Rays to rule out wobblers and traumatic injury. Deepali has full use of her head, neck, front limbs - her back feet 'dance' even when she is standing still. She is unbothered by her twitches and RUNS when she needs to be first in line for a treat or to go see her dog friends. Deepali loves human attention and petting. She could easily be an only dog in a small space - going on leashed walks for exercise. Guessed to be between 4-6 years old. Mature but not showing signs of aging. Current weight 42 lbs. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and on prevention (treated and now negative for heartworms). Housetrained, crate trained and part of a suburban foster home with other dogs. Deepali does NOT have any special needs* Intake Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/iajmW_gNjrs?si=5-dp93lDnMEzye3h FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee ($400.00) includes transport options to PNW (WA, UT, ID), Midwest (MN, WI, MI, OH, IL, IN) or select New England States (NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT) by pet transport partners.
