Story
Smokey is a 4 year 8 month old Doberman Pincher/Shar Pei mix weighing 43 pounds. Smokey was originally adopted from our shelter as a puppy in 2022 and recently found himself back with us due to no fault of his own. He's a hot mess and a stud muffin! Reported HIGH anxiety from foster, treating with Trazadone. Recently treated for Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (his stomach flipped) and needs a slow feeder for his meals. Allergies-Special diet required, currently treating skin with diet, baths, and fish oil supplements. The good stuff-he's gentle, sweet and very affectionate. A cuddle bug, will be your shadow. Playful with people and toys, his favorites are tug & wrestling. He likes to sleep on the furniture and in bed with you. Previous home had a fenced in yard. He's treat motivated. Knows commands sit, easy & down. Housebroken. Crate trained (safe place) and good on a leash. He's selective with other dogs, they must be submissive and smaller than him.His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00 (includes $1.00 service charge).Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 1pm-4:30pm, and the 2nd and 4th Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review.
