Story
Meet Jewel — a brilliant, beautiful 2-year-old Doberman ready for her happily-ever-after!Jewel came to us as a stray and surprised us with a litter of adorable puppies. Now that her babies have all found homes, it’s finally her turn to shine. True to her Doberman heritage, Jewel is incredibly smart and eager to learn. She already knows “sit” and “down,” appears to be potty-trained, and would thrive in a home that appreciates her intelligence and gives her plenty of mental enrichment. Her smarts can get her in trouble too- she has learned how to open doors so she can track down her person! After surviving life on her own, Jewel is afraid of being left behind again. She can bark when left alone or when unfamiliar people come by, so she’ll do best in a home without shared walls or with someone who can patiently help her feel safe and secure. Once she trusts you, she is the sweetest “velcro dog” you’ll ever meet—leaning in for affection, nudging your hand if you stop petting too soon, and wanting nothing more than to be by your side.Jewel prefers people over other pets. She can coexist politely with calm, respectful dogs, but she does not enjoy dogs who jump on her or invade her space. A home where she can have her own bubble—and lots of love—would be perfect for her.If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s as loving as she is clever, Jewel is ready to sparkle her way into your life. To come meet her and see just how special she is, please email us at TransitionCenter@charlestonanimalsociety.org! She is currently located at our offsite facility in Ravenel (about 10 minutes from West Ashley).

Story
Hello, my name is Skye and I am a very sweet and loving Doberman Pinscher. I, along with my sisters, was dumped in a very high kill shelter in NC. New Beginnings stepped in just in the nick of time to save us and give us our very own new beginning in life. My foster mom says that I am a very sweet and loving girl with endless potential to learn. I get along well with all of the dogs here as well and love to play. I especially like the little girl who feeds us cookies when she comes to see us. I was rescued in just the nick of time from a very high kill shelter, but now I am ready to find a family who will love me as much as I will love them. I will go out on a spay contract and that means that I will need to be spayed at 12 months of age...it has been proven that early spay and neuters can cause multiple cancers and other illnesses as well as growth, hip and joint problems as I grow and get older. I am up to date on all of my shots including Rabies. I am on monthly Heartguard, and also Frontline for those nasty fleas and ticks, so none of those pesky critters and I am microchipped so I will never get lost again. If you would like to know more about me, please contact my foster mom at Julie@NewBeginningsRescue.com , she will be happy to tell you all about me. If you give me your heart and I will give you mine. Can't wait to meet you, Skye (I don't have a last name yet, maybe yours?)October 7, 2025, 2:06 pm
