Story
With her beautiful brown eyes, heart-melting smile, and gentle nature, Zoe is the kind of dog who quickly wins people over. More than anything, she loves being close to her humans and soaking up all the affection she can get. Zoe is house-trained and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to a home. She keeps a tidy space and will let you know when she needs to go outside. While toys aren't usually her main focus, she enjoys chewing on them when relaxing in her crate or room. This sweet girl is happiest when she's spending time with her people. If there's a lap available, that's exactly where you'll find her, resting her head, enjoying pets, and soaking in every bit of love. She would thrive in a home where she can be part of the family and spend plenty of time with her favorite humans. Zoe continues to build confidence every day and has come a long way. After everything she has been through, Zoe is learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for. She is a deeply affectionate, loyal companion who is ready to share her big heart with a family of her own.

Story
Rex is a gorgeous, floppy-eared purebred Doberman. We believe he`s already been in several homes during his short life (2 years) and has not received the direction, socialization and training dogs of this breed require....YET! We are working on him and diligently seeking a companion for him that will take him to the next level and help him realize his full potential and gain a bit of weight. He is fearful of male humans and becomes very agitated around them, so a female-only home is a MUST. He can not be around cats, rabbits or other small animals. Period. Do not even ask! He has never been around small children, and he is not polite about taking treats, so that is not an option at this time either.HE IS: Very smart, and will make a nice companion for a single woman or all-female family. Breed preference preferred. Training class or working with a trainer is a MUST. He has been passed around a lot already, and we intend to be very selective where his new family is concerned. He needs to find his last home, not just his next home. If you are interested, please fill out the application on the Adoptable Dogs page of waupacahumane.org

Story
Cazy is a sweet, gentle girl who is blossoming into an amazing companion. While she can be a little reserved when meeting new people, she settles in quickly and warms up with just a little patience. Once she feels comfortable, her loving personality shines, and she enjoys staying close to her people while relaxing together. She walks nicely on a leash with people she knows, has good house manners, and already knows some basic commands. Cazy is eager to please and looks to her people for guidance, making her a wonderful dog for someone who enjoys helping their canine companion continue to build confidence. Cazy gets along great with other dogs. She enjoys playing with them once she's comfortable and knows they're friendly. She has also shown no signs of reactivity toward cats. Outside, Cazy loves to run, play, and have fun! Indoors, she's much calmer and enjoys relaxing with her family. She would do best in a low- to medium-energy home where she can continue to grow into the confident, happy dog she's becoming. With her beautiful looks, gentle heart, and affectionate nature, Cazy is truly a special girl. In a patient, loving home, she's sure to become the loyal, devoted companion you've been searching for.

Story
Tolly is a gentle, sweet-natured dog with a calm and loving personality. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new environments, she blossoms with patience and kindness, revealing the wonderful companion she is destined to become. Tolly is crate trained and settles in nicely at home, where she enjoys relaxing with her people while they watch TV, read a book, or simply enjoy a quiet evening together. She knows the "sit" command when treats are involved and enjoys going for walks once she feels comfortable with her surroundings. She does well with dogs of all sizes and ages and has shown no reaction to cats. Tolly is okay with children, though she may choose to keep her distance until she gets to know them. She is never confrontational and prefers to quietly observe rather than seek attention from strangers. Once she trusts you, however, she is happy to relax by your side and be part of the family. Although she is fairly low-key indoors, Tolly does enjoy playing and roughhousing with her dog friends outside and can be quite entertaining when she's feeling comfortable and confident. Tolly is looking for a calm, lower-energy home with patient adopters who will give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. For someone seeking a quiet, easygoing companion, Tolly has all the makings of the perfect dog. She is beautiful, kind, respectful, and has so much potential to become an incredibly loyal best friend.
