I am heartworm positive…but you can still love me! My adoption fee is $250 which covers my annual distemper booster, rabies, and being spayed/neutered and microchipped. The rescue will pay for the injections for HW treatment at Shoreline Vet. in Jacksonville. My adopter would be responsible for the take home meds which average about $200, depending on size, over the 4-month span of treatment.  I am heart worm positive but please don’t let that scare you away. I’m a very loving girl who loves to lay down and relax. My favorite part of the day is when my foster mom comes home and cuddles me because of course I think I’m a lap dog. I’m very friendly and love to meet new people! All I want to do is give kisses to everyone I meet. I also love to play with my foster siblings.  I am potty and create trained I even know how to sit and lay down! I’m very treat oriented and correct easily.  I love to go on walks, but I need a little help with my leash manners but I’m a very fast learner! Meet this handsome senior fella named Vegas! He was surrendered over to the shelter by his owner on January 6, 2023 because he was getting nippy. He is 10 years old, current on shots, already neutered, and deserving of a wonderful life to enjoy his “golden years” being a loved and pampered pup in a home. Don’t let his age deceive you…he has a lot of pep in his strep. When he gets excited he gets the zoomies (just like a puppy) and that is when he can get nippy. Just being playful.While on the leash for a walk he walks perfectly. Owner said he needs a home without other dogs and no cats. Since he can get a little over excited and can be a little nippy (in a playful way) would be best in a home without children. He’s handsome and sweet and with the right person he will thrive and make someone a sweet pup! Visit with Vegas today and adopt him into your heart and home!

He is such a sweet boy, gentle, fun, loving, easy going, but full of love and life to share. Toby is 7 years old, current on shots, and will make someone or a family a fabulous pup if given a chance. He is settling into “shelter life” but hopes his stay isn’t too long. He’s a good boy missing his home life setting. He has played with a female pup at the shelter and had a blast. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance. The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home. In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.
