Story
Stanley is a 1-year-old Argentinian Dogo who’s equal parts cuddle-bug and high-energy goofball. Found as a stray and understandably nervous when he first arrived at the shelter, Stanley has blossomed into a playful, affectionate, and fiercely loyal companion — once he gets to know you. He may be shy at first, but don’t let that fool you. Give him a little time, a lot of patience, and a handful of treats, and you’ll soon have a shadow who just wants to play, learn, and smother you with kisses. Stanley is incredibly smart and picks up new things quickly, but he’ll need dedicated training and consistency to help him continue to build confidence and thrive. Stanley is a healthy, athletic boy who loves to zoom around the yard, chase toys, and then promptly curl up in your lap like he weighs 10 pounds (he definitely doesn’t). He’s a classic gentle giant who doesn’t quite realize his size and has fully committed to the “big dog, little lap” lifestyle. He does experience separation anxiety and truly bonds with his humans, so he’s looking for a home where someone is around more often than not. He’d do best with experienced dog owners familiar with the needs of large, powerful breeds like the Dogo Argentino — especially ones who can offer him structure, lots of exercise, and even more love. Stanley is ready for a second chance and a forever family that will help him feel safe, seen, and celebrated every day. If you’ve got the time, heart, and space for a big dog who gives even bigger hugs, Stanley might just be your perfect match.

Story
**FOSTER NEEDED!**COURTESY POST-LOS ANGELES/SURROUNDING AREAS. Hi I am Cutie Patootie RUDY! I ended up at the awful pound where I lived for 10 LONG months in a tiny crowded cement kennel surrounded by terrified barking dogs  Then I got put on the dreaded RED LIST and my time was up-I was so scared and upset! Thankfully a kind shelter volunteer who loved me got me out but had nowhere for me to go so I have been living in a boarding place for the last few months, but I really need out-I LONG for a warm and comfy home to live in with NICE humans! I am a gentle giant weighing in at 85 pounds and I am a super Happy Go Lucky boy who is good with other dogs (especially females) and I am sweet and and love all humans and I take treats very gently and am an excellent leash walker too! I am around 3 years old and a male Dogo Argentino and American Bulldog mix (we think!)  My tail never stops wagging and I am just the funnest doggo you will ever meet! Due to my Big Boy size a home with no small kids and no cats would be amazing! Can YOU help a doggo out and foster me? Even better ADOPT me? Please reach out to bulliesandbuddies@gmail.com and put RUDY in the subject line if you can help me or want to be my FOREVER Human ok? Happy Holidays! Love,Rudy

Story
Marshmallow is a great dog for a home with no other pets. Unfortunately, we have two dogs and it has been a struggle keeping the peace. She is deaf, knows basic hand signals. Honestly, hasn’t been any different than any other dog I’ve ever owned. I walk her twice a day, although lately she hasn’t wanted to go in the mornings on our runs. She is a bit food aggressive with everyone except myself. Great for an active family. She loves love.

Dogo Argentino fun facts

Fun Facts:

An Argentinian surgeon, Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez, created this breed by cross-breeding a (now-extinct) Cordoba Fighting Dog with a Pointer, Great Dane, Bulldog, Great Pyrenees, Spanish Mastiff, Bull Terrier, Boxer, Dogue de Bordeaux, and Irish Wolfhound.

The Dogo Argentino was first bred in 1928.
