Story
Tut is an 8-year-old Long Hair (possibly Maine Coon) mix, who has been a cherished part of our family for the past seven years. He is a gentle and affectionate cat who loves to cuddle and sit on laps. Tut thrives in a calm environment and would do best in a home without children or dogs, as they tend to stress him out. He is ideally suited for adults who can devote time to loving him and giving him all the cuddles he desires. Tut has had a history of marking outside the litter box when stressed, often on clothing or towels left on the ground. This behavior has been managed successfully with regular litter box maintenance, stress medication when needed, and plenty of attention. Unfortunately, a recent period of household chaos led to an incident, and my husband has reached his final tolerance. We must now make the heartbreaking decision to rehome him. The most recent marking incident occurred after a year of no problems, and in the past has been related to significant life changes.

Story
You wanna hear something crazy? I was born with a cleft lip and legs that were bent...I mean, gee...to top it all off, my Mommy Parti and my siblings Chess and Mancala and me were in a bad situation too. Fortunately, we were rescued and next thing we knew, we were all together in a foster home! At first, the foster folks were wondering if my legs were going to need some real help...so they did some x-rays and talked about options for helping me. Well, I showed them and as soon as I could, I got my legs stronger and straighter and now they are ok! And another miracle - even though I was born with a cleft lip, I was always able to drink my Mommy's milk and then eat kitten food. So, I guess you could say, I am a bit of a miracle! Not only that, and I don't like to brag, but my coat is long and fluffy and GORGEOUS! Foster Mommy loves to say I am UNIQUE! My nose is a bit different from other kittens but she says that just makes me EXTRA special. What do you think? I am a bit shy but I appreciate it when you pick me up slowly and talk to me gently. I adore playing with toys and my siblings but taking a cat nap is right up there too! I use the litter box just fine in case you were wondering. Maybe I will see you soon? Love, Checkers ONLY AVAILABLE IN TEXAS This cat can only be adopted in the state of Texas and has an adoption fee of $150.

Story
NAME: Finley (male) BREED & COLOR: Domestic medium/long hair, orange tabby  *APPROX*. BIRTH DATE:  01/25/2023 THIS CAT IS LOCATED IN CENTRAL ARKANSAS *THIS CAT IS NOT HYPOALERGENIC* LITTER BOX TRAINED:  Yes ADOPTION INCLUDES:  All vaccinations, dewormed, 30-day topical de-flea, FIV/Felv test, spay/neuter, rabies vaccs, microchip, all health records to date.  GETS ALONG WITH OTHER CATS/DOGS?  Finley is acclimated to cat friendly cats but has not met any cat friendly dogs.  *SLOW*, gradual introductions are always needed when meeting new friends! CHILDREN? He is fine with OLDER (over 12) well-mannered children who know how to respect pets. BIO: Finley came to rescue from a lady who was feeding some strays in her area.  Finley was a little shy at first, having to fend for himself outside and always having to be on guard. After knowing he was safe, he became more outgoing and friendly, but never a lush.Finley is a tad “mouthy” (places his mouth on your hand but doesn’t break the skin) when he gets enough petting or with sudden (scares him) moves. This is how he communicates with his people.  He loves to play with his toys, enjoys the cat tree and watching birds outside.Finley follows his foster mom from room to room so she won’t get lost. He’s a good guide, and takes his duties seriously, so you won’t find him in a lap at all, because he’s always ready to go. He rubs against his foster mom and enjoys brief pets.    Finley needs to take prednisone twice a week for mild asthma and IBS, however, this is not considered as "special needs". OUT OF STATE/OUT OF AREA?  We do not arrange transport or ship. Please be willing and able to personally acquire this pet. Story
Finn is a senior sweetheart looking for a forever family who understands his special needs. This beautiful grey and white domestic long hair cat is the sweetest . He loves cuddles, and he's very affectionate. Finn will require a medical consultation with our on-site veterinarian before being adopted as he is diabetic and will require daily insulin. Because of his special diet, he will need to be the only cat in the home. Finns estimated DOB is 1/1/2016. If you have been looking to care for an animal with special medical needs, please stop by the shelter and meet sweet Finn! He would love to spend the rest of his life in your care! There is a mandatory consultation with our veterinarian before he can be adopted. Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Cookie enjoys laying in the window looking outside but is not a fan of actually going outdoors. He loves to be brushed! His favorite human snack is cheese doritos. Cookie wants to be in a home that he can roam freely without fear of being chased by dogs.

Story
Corabeth and her siblings were rescued from an attic in mid-May, luckily before it got too ghastly hot. There were so many brothers and sisters that we decided to name the kittens after characters from the series The Waltons. We estimate the “Walton 9” were born around April 10, 2024. Corabeth is a very active young lady who would really like to find a home where she can hang out, play, and cuddle in your lap. Not necessarily in that order. Just keep the attic door closed! You can apply on line at www.hsvawl.org by completing the Adoption Application on the home page.July 26, 2024, 6:46 am
