Story
Binx is a young adult female who was surrendered through no fault of her own—her owner’s new lease didn’t allow pets. She’s a beautiful, sweet girl struggling to adjust to shelter life after living in a home. Though shy and often hiding, Binx loves to be petted and clearly craves companionship. Once she feels safe, her affectionate nature begins to shine, and she’ll become a loyal best friend. She’s looking for a forever home where she’ll be truly wanted and never have to worry about losing her place again. Please make sure your home allows pets and that you and your family are prepared to welcome a new cat. Before bringing them home, have the essentials ready: food and water dishes, cat food, litter and a litter box, cozy bedding, and a designated veterinarian for ongoing care and vaccinations. We also recommend following the 7-3-3 Guideline to support a smooth transition. This thoughtful framework offers a realistic timeline and helpful tips for pets who may need extra time and patience to adjust. By providing structure and understanding, you’ll give your new companion the best chance to thrive—and become a beloved part of your family.7 Days to Decompress: When first brought home, your new cat will need a quiet space—like a small room—where he/she can feel safe and observe from a distance. Establish consistent routines, such as feeding, litter box use, and quiet interaction, to help him/her settle in.3 Weeks to Start Adjusting: Over the next few weeks, your cat will begin exploring more, recognizing your presence, and getting comfortable with the household’s rhythm. During this time, gentle interaction and positive reinforcement will help build trust.3 Months to Fully Acclimate: It can take up to three months for adopted pets to feel completely at home, confident, and bonded with their new family. By this time, their personality will shine through, and will likely be showing their affectionate and playful side regularly.

Story
This beautiful sweet, sweet boy loves to play, be pet, and just hang out. He is very calm and sweet. He is very docile so unfortunately he gets bullied by the other males in the neighborhood. He and one other cat were dumped by my apartment in the winter of 2022-2023. My neighbors and I have been taking care of him and the other cats but our landlord has told us they need to go.

Story
Hugo is a stunning Maine Coon mix with a striking presence and a gentle soul, though he’s still shy around people. Shelter volunteers have noticed that he’s curious and seems to want attention—he’s just unsure how to trust.Likely having had little human interaction, Hugo is considered semi-feral. He’s not aggressive, just frightened, and would do best with an experienced cat person or a patient foster who can help him feel safe.Semi-feral cats often find comfort in the company of other cats, and Hugo is no exception—he would thrive in a home with feline companions. With time, care, and understanding, Hugo has the potential to blossom into a truly loving companion. For any new pet, we recommend following the 7-3-3 Guideline to support a smooth transition. This thoughtful framework offers a realistic timeline and helpful tips for pets who may need extra time and patience to adjust.
