Domestic Longhair kittens & cats in Scottsburg, Indiana

Hawaiian Tropic is a beautiful 2-year-old girl with a gentle soul. She came to us from an eviction situation and was pregnant at the time. Since then, she’s raised her kittens, watched them all find their forever homes, and has been spayed. Now it’s finally her turn to start the life of luxury she deserves. Hawaiian Tropic tends to get overlooked because she’s shy when meeting new people. She may cower at first and needs a little time to decide that she’s safe. We suspect there may have been some trauma in her past, but despite her fear, she has never lashed out at our staff or volunteers. Give her patience, and you’ll discover the sweet girl hiding underneath that uncertainty. Once Hawaiian Tropic trusts you, she enjoys being picked up and absolutely loves chin rubs. She’s looking for a quiet home and a patient person willing to let her blossom at her own pace. Her kittens got their happily ever after... now we’d really love to see Mama get hers!

I got Figgy when my friend's cat had a litter of kittens, and he was just too cute; I had to have him. He's very playful but can be timid at times. My current landlord despises cats because she's a hater. I want to find my boy a good and loving home.

Meet Dracula! Dracula is an amazing long hair boy who enjoys his people and his food (He will never let you forget a meal haha!) Dracula came in as a stray from a Good Samaritan so we are unsure of his backstory, but what we do know is that Dracula is full of love and would make a great addition for a family seeking an indoor/outdoor cat. Dracula does not want to live just the outdoor life anymore… He wants to spend his nights snuggled with you in bed. He wants a warm lap to lay on when the colder nights hits. He is a seeking a safe place to call “home”. Could that be you??

While Miss Kitty is considered a senior cat, she is proof that you don’t always have to act your age. She loves to play with her favorite toys, which include a feather wand and a catnip kicker. She gets very playful when you interact with her and loves to jump and pounce. When she’s worn out, she’ll snuggle up next to you for pets. She loves to lie by your feet or settle beside you for gentle scratches. She also loves to be brushed, and her long fur is incredibly soft. Miss Kitty is currently in a foster home where they say she loves all the people she has met, including children. While Miss Kitty loves her people, she doesn’t want to share them with other animals and wants to be your one and only. She would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of attention and interaction, and she will let you know when she is craving attention. If you are looking for a cat who is a mix of playful but also loves to sit next to you soaking up attention, then Miss Kitty might be your gal. Ophelia has had a hard road, but she’s shown us just how much sweetness was hiding underneath all that fear. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was scared, stressed and unsure whether she could trust the people around her. We knew she needed a quieter environment and some time to decompress, so Ophelia headed to a foster home. Little by little, she began to open up. As she’s grown more comfortable, we’ve gotten to see the sweet girl underneath. Ophelia enjoys gentle pets, playing with her toys, and spending time birdwatching from the window. She may not be the type of cat who immediately runs up to greet a new person, but with patience and kindness, she continues to show just how far she can come. Ophelia is looking for a patient adopter who will give her the time and space she needs to settle in at her own pace. A relatively calm home would be the best fit for her as she continues building her confidence and learning that she is safe and loved. We may never know exactly what Ophelia’s life looked like before she came to us, but we do know what we want her future to look like: a safe, loving forever home where she can continue to grow, trust, and blossom. If you are interested in learning more about Ophelia, please call 812-988-7362 or submit an adoption application at the link below.
