Story
Lucy has now been at Faithful Friends for 115+ days! We can't believe that this beautiful and loving girl has gone so long without someone choosing her. She's been such a lovely addition to our cat room. Lucy not only expertly avoids spats with moody adults, she's become a stand-in mom of sorts for our teenage kittens. She can be seen throughout the day following kittens around, bathing them, and cuddling with them. And with human visitors, she's always friendly, chatty, and welcomes pets and cuddles.Lucy uses the litter box reliably, is at the perfect age to join a variety of households, and is of course a unique and beautiful cat. Why she hasn't been chosen yet is beyond anyone's understanding. We'd love to see Lucy go home for the holidays. She deserves to enjoy this Christmas in a home of her own.

Story
Athena is about 3 years old and a very affectionate, attention-loving cat. She enjoys exploring outside on a leash when she can and loves looking out windows, especially to watch birds. Since I had a baby this year, Athena hasn’t adjusted well—she does not do well with toddlers, other cats, or dogs. She is sweet, adventurous, and playful. She can catch hair ties in mid-air and loves laser toys, feather toys, scratching, wet food, and catnip as special treats. Athena is fine with older kids and even babies, but not toddlers since their movement can stress her out. She has a funny personality—she loves to follow me to the bathroom and sits on the toilet while I shower. She really deserves a calm home without young children or other animals, where she won’t be overwhelmed by sudden changes. I love her dearly, but due to my health I can’t keep up with her care the way she deserves, and it isn’t fair to her. I want her to find a loving home where she can relax, play, and be herself again.

Story
Bringing home a new cat is exciting and also a responsibility. Follow these guidelines to help your cat stay safe and adjust smoothly. Safety at Home Remove toxic plants, especially lilies and sago palm. Other unsafe plants include azaleas, daffodils, pothos, philodendrons, and tulips. Lock up chemicals, antifreeze, pesticides, and all human and pet medications. Remove small items like string, hair ties, rubber bands, and yarn, and secure blind cords and electrical cords. Check dryers before use and block access to dangerous areas around appliances. Keep cats indoors and make sure doors, windows, and screens are secure. Helping Your Cat Adjust Start your cat in a quiet safe room with food, water, a litter box, toys, and hiding spots. Limit handling at first and let your cat come to you. Keep the litter box in a quiet area, away from food and water, and scoop daily. Stick to a routine and provide scratching posts and places to climb. The Rule of 3 3 Days: Your cat may hide or act nervous. This is normal. 3 Weeks: Your cat starts to feel safer and learn your routine. 3 Months: Your cat feels at home and shows their true personality.
