Story
Meet Jimmy — a gentle little guy with a big heart. Jimmy is about eight years old and weighs 10 pounds. While the shelter listed him as a Chihuahua mix, we suspect he may be a Chiweenie thanks to his long body and elegant legs. Jimmy is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative — ready for his fresh start. 🌿 Personality & Favorite Things Jimmy absolutely loves being outdoors and going for car rides where he can look out the window and take in the world. He walks nicely on a leash and appears to be house trained, though he has occasionally tried to mark (very normal for a male dog adjusting to a new environment). He gets along well with dogs his size and enjoys toys, especially a good game of tug‑of‑war with someone he trusts. 💛 A Tender Soul Jimmy seems to have experienced some rough patches in his past, and he is understandably fearful of people at first. He needs a patient, loving home willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel safe. Because of his sensitivity, he would do best in a home without small children. Once Jimmy trusts you, he blossoms — and he’s hoping to find that special person who will help him feel secure and loved. 🏡 Ready to Meet Jimmy? Story
Hi, my name is Ginger, aka "Gingi or Princess". I'm about 4 years old and 15 pounds. My mom says I'm a Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix) and that I'm perfect. I'm current on all my shots, microchipped, spayed, and kennel trained. I am heartworm positive, but my treatment has already begun and the treatment goes with me when I'm adopted. Also, I don't believe in going potty in the house, so I learned how to use the doggy door right away. I like my foster fur brothers, but I'm really not interested in playing with them. They rough house and that's not dignified in my opinion. I would rather be with my person, cuddling up on the couch. My foster mom does take me for walks and rides in the car and I have perfect manners. I think I would get along with cats and respectful children if asked. I'm not a big eater, but I love a boiled egg for a treat. Do you think you want to be my forever person? My foster mom wanted me to add: 1. I received my name because of my color AND because of my "gingerly" walk whenever I'm happy (which is 99% of the time). 2. I smile. 3. I'm a total cuddle bug and will follow you anywhere in the house. 4. I love being brushed and don't mind mani-pedis. If you think I'm the perfect fit for your home, please complete an application on our website, www.myhappytail.org. Just click on the How to Adopt tab.
