You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alan came to the shelter on 1/22/2024 from the city pound after his legal hold time was finished. We're guessing on his breed mix, but are thinking German or Dutch shepherd, pit bull, and maybe even mastiff. He is a big, strong, and friendly guy with a gorgeous brindle coat. He is about 5 years old and has been fully vetted and microchipped. His fee is $150. Alan does appear to be housetrained and does know some basic commands. He walks pretty well on leash with a harness. He's very in tune to people and kind of a sensitive soul (don't tell him we said anything). He's also an absolute sweetie who wants to be around people all the time. We do think he should be the only pet in the home. He might be a bit too large and strong for really young kids.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. Baldur & Freyja are a bonded pair who need to be adopted together. They came to us when their owner could no longer care for them, and they are very attached to each other! Baldur is a 2.5-year-old German Shepherd, and Freyja is a 4-year-old Husky mix. Both dogs are friendly, social, and enjoy being around people. They’re happiest when they’re together. These two are active dogs and will do best in a home that can give them plenty of exercise and time to burn off energy. Walks, playtime, and an active routine will help them thrive. If you’re looking for a pair of dogs that already have a strong bond and do best as a team, Baldur and Freyja could be a great fit.Adoption fee (pair) $400 + $30 microchip fee (each) + tax

This dashing and charming boy is Alexander!Alexander came to PCHS when he was found as a stray in Lyle MN. The finders held onto him for over a month looking for owners but unfortunately no one ever came forward to claim him. He then made his way here so he could get some vet work and find his new home!Alexander is a happy, social boy who would love an active family to take him on walks or play in the yard with him. He is a bit selective with other dogs, and would need to meet any potential doggie siblings before going to his forever home. He is thought to be about 2 and half and some sort of smaller Shepherd/ Shiba type mix. He is on the smaller side at around 50 pounds. Alexander is looking for a fresh start where he can thrive. Ash is super friendly puppy that LOVES people of all ages. She's a social dog that loves saying hi to anyone she meets. She's been socialized since birth with a variety of dogs of all breeds and sizes. She gets along great with every dog she meets. She's currently in a foster home with two dogs, a cat and 7-year-old (so very social). Ash has her first and second distemper, has been on a deworming schedule, has had a wellness exam, and is microchipped. The adopter will take over the responsibility of getting her spayed at the age your vet feels is best. They were born on 10/25. A DNA test was done in her litter and they came back at 38.5% German Shepherd, 35% Australian Cattle dog and 26.4% Supermutt!
