Story
Hi Great Dog Lovers out there! We are courtesy posting a lovely dog for an amazing local Cleveland Rescue Group. This dog's a beauty! A Dutch Shepherd (these lovely dogs originate from the Netherlands, how cool is that)? Meet Ruie Sweet, Energetic Young Female seeking forever home. Looking for a loving home for a playful 1.5 to 2-year-old female who needs a caring person ready to help her reach her full fantastic potential. Despite being left at the kennel by her original owners this enthusiastic girl did not let that get her down and was excited when her new owners rescued her. With every good intent her new family found out that she needed more attention than their busy lives can provide at this time, and they want to do right by her. She loves soaking up the sun, going for car rides, snuggling on the sofa or just being her super playful and athletic happy self. She has lots of love to give, and is smart and sensitive at the same time. She would thrive with someone who can give her the dedicated time to love, mixed with exercise. Ideal home would include: -Experience with young, active dogs. -Commitment and patience to positive reinforcement training. -A secure fenced yard for play and exercise, she is athletic and can jump lower fencing. She's great with people and has been to doggy school learning the basics. This pup has so much potential and love to give, ready to be your best friend ever. Rehoming Post: Application and home visit required, rehoming fee in the form of a donation to SEHS. For inquiries please call Deb with SEHS at 216-225-5526.

Story
This happy, social, lovely girl is Louise! Louise is a 7 month old female Doberman/German Shepherd mixed with who knows what! Likely some sort of farm/herding type dog and maybe a dash of hound. She currently weighs in at about 44 pounds, and does still have some growing to do - we would expect for her to mature to around 55 pounds, give or take a few. Louise and her sister were brought to Angels as strays. They were very hungry, very skinny, and VERY sweet! From the get-go it was hard to overlook just what amazing temperaments the girls had (and have!). Louise showed no fear, no hesitation, no nervousness. She simply seemed to figure that we all knew what would be best, and after apparently being on her own with only feed corn and grass to eat, she was ready for a new life.Louise has been a fantastic girl during her stay here at the shelter. She just wants attention and time from all the humans more than anything else. She has not been reactive at all with other dogs, and she would probably be fine living with a canine companion. A boyfriend would be ideal, considering her breed mix, but a complimentary female may also work - a meet and greet would absolutely be required before any placement. Cats are currently a big unknown. We think there might could be some chasing going on, but we are willing to test her reaction to a cat upon request. She would likely be fine with respectful children who know how to act around dogs, but might be a little too bouncy and puppy at this point for the very young - kids 8 and up are definitely preferred. Louise seems to ride well in the car and since she has been at Angels she is learning what a leash is and what is expected of her when she is on one. Work in progress but she is definitely an `A` student so far! She is brilliantly smart and adorably loving. She would benefit greatly from training classes to help you help her to be the best big girl dog she can be. With her apparent breed mix, you will be gaining a truly loyal companion who will likely earn the term `velcro dog` before too long. We are guessing that if you are in the market for an independent slightly aloof sort, this isn`t the one.

Story
This beautiful girl is Thelma, a 7 month old female Doberman/German Shepherd mixed with maybe some farm type herdy dog and a dash of hound. Thelma currently weighs in at approximately 36 pounds, and has growing to do and weight to gain! We expect her to be close to 50 pounds once she is done, give or take a pound or two or three or four!Thelma and her sister (Louise) were brought to Angels by a good Samaritan who found them all alone on the side of the road. We assume they came from some sort of farm life evidenced by the amount of feed corn and green stuff that came out of them the first couple of days in our care. Regardless, social, happy, and friendly are the best words to describe these girlies. Thelma is unfailingly sweet and friendly, bouncy and happy. Even as skinny as she was, she just wanted to say hello to everyone. Thelma is basically a big bouncy baby pup. She rides well in the car and, now that she has experienced a leash for probably the first time, is getting the hang of that as well! She has not been at all reactive with other dogs and would probably do fine with a canine companion, though would likely do best with a boyfriend. A girl isn`t out of the question though, but in any case, a meet and greet will be strictly required before placement with another dog. Cats are a complete unknown, but we will be more than willing to gauge her reaction to one upon request. Thelma will need a family ready to take on a puppy. Despite the fact that she sort of looks grown up, she definitely is not. Training classes so that she and you can learn together, would be ideal. She seems like she would relate well to respectful children, but littles might be easily knocked over by her puppy bounces, so a little older than toddler is best. She will need all the things any puppy would - socialization, training, structure and boundaries. It is likely that she hasn`t seen much of this big wide world, and will benefit greatly from an owner who will help her be the best she can be. She is active and curious and deserves a home that will involve her in all the things. With her apparent breed mix, you will likely get in return, a dog who loves you until the end of time. One that will easily earn the title `velcro` dog. So much loyalty.
