Story
Want a dog that blends in with everything? This is your guy. No need to buy a camouflage collar, he's got you covered. Tiger is a mIx breed of "who the heck knows" and "I'm not really sure" so of course Dutch Shepherd mix is a guess. Tiger is upbeat and SMART. He is currently working on foundation obedience training and hopes to earn his graduation certificate. Tiger has been with us for over a year, he grew up in rescue, and really deserves his first FOREVER HOME. They ALL DO!! We will know more about Tiger once we receive feedback from our trainer. But feel free to email about this handsome boy. 7-17-25

Story
Oh, hello dear friends! | heard you were looking for a grizzled, terrifyingly neurotically drivey cryptid in a rough coated dog suit. Or maybe he's secretly three cracked out owls in a trench coat, idk. What I do know is that Kane's body is housing the spirit of an old timey Wild West outlaw who chugs whiskey and shoots before he asks questions. This dog will hunt a needle in a haystack, throw a 5 gallon bucket 6' in the air, body slam you for no reason besides enjoying the tears of his humans, and will play with any toy that is toy- or even non toy-shaped. This 5 year old Dutchie was rode hard and put away wet when he was younger; a typical "you're in a kennel until you're brought out to work" scenario, that's fried his brain a smidge. (TBH I don't know if there was a fully developed lobe in there, but I can dream). His entire mouth is filled with worn down teeth and the souls of his enemies. His 'off' switch has faulty wiring- and he likes it that way- so no homes with frail seniors, special needs adults, or small children. This dude is the Chuck Norris of dogs, and needs a handler who likes em friendly but with a heavy dash of crazy. And that friendly refers to creatures with 2 legs, or 4 legged creatures without a hose pipe, if you catch my drift. So if you've got male dogs- or any small animals- that you actually like, don't apply. (Remember when I said he shoots first and asks questions later? Exactly.) So, if you're in the market for an addition that will make your parents say "why do you keep adopting dogs like this" with a tone of disappoint that excites you, look no further. Kane is available for adoption in Greenville SC. Out of area applicants must travel in to meet our dogs.

Story
Drax is a Puskas son, and genetically has the pizazz and drive you’d expect, but he was raised as a single dog in a pet family with kids, so he wasn’t developed in any meaningful way. He was very shut down and defensive when he arrived to us, and was confused by the change. He has never offered forward aggression, but is very clear with his stress signals and would air snap when approached by strangers. Now, Drax is on the neutral side of social with everyone he meets- and will willingly take snackies if offered by strangers. He is neutral to other dogs while in a kennel and on leash, and has been to multiple working dog days with 10+ dogs surrounding him with no reactivity issues. But in a household setting where dogs are loose, he WILL try to fight male dogs, intact or not. He will fight dominant females if they try to correct or dominate him. I do believe in a home with a dedicated handler or trainer he can coexist with appropriately behaved females if integrated correctly. Drax has high toy drive, med high prey drive, and med-high food drive, depending on the value of food offered. He is eager and biddable when training, and when he’s working for a handler he’s bonded with has that “you say jump,I’ll go to the moon” exuberance. He’s a lover boy, and has typical Dutchie Velcro tendencies. He has high possession, and no solid out- he will guard high value objects from people, including his known handlers. When taken to our working dog days, he didn’t readily offer to engage with the decoys until I ramped him up with the flirt first, and handed off to the decoy. At that point he realized the game included them, and willingly offered to engage for the rest of the session. Environmentally he is solid and unbothered by the clatter and curtains. His grip is nice for as green as he is; he needs development on pushing into the bite vs tugging, but the ability and desire is there. We are looking for a FEMALE handler for Drax. He is neutral with males, but will keep a close eye, and prefers to work for women. Knowing his history, this is understandable. He has been in a home with children, but given his possession and toy drive paired with his bull in a china shop, full send attitude, we would not consider homes with very small children. Out of area adopters MUST travel in to meet their approved dogs.
