Story
Meet Stark! 🐾 This sweet little guy is a Chihuahua and Jack Russell mix — or at least that’s our best guess! Like many rescues, Stark's exact background is a bit of a mystery, but one thing is certain: he’s full of heart. Stark can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but give him a little time, some gentle cuddles, and a chance to play, and he’ll warm right up. He’s currently living in a foster home with cats and would do just fine with feline companions in his forever home. He’s also open to sharing his space with other small dogs — or he’d be just as happy being your one and only. Playful and affectionate, Stark loves his toys and will trot over when he’s ready for some pets. He walks nicely on a leash and would enjoy joining you for some leisurely strolls. And let’s not forget his best feature: a big, silly, striking smile that’s guaranteed to steal your heart. Crate trained and potty trained, he's already 100% good boy. He even likes to go into his crate for naps on his own. He's mostly a chill boy who loves to nap, but he does still enjoy a good walk or play session. Did you notice the shaved fur in the photos? He had to have his tail partially amputated, but he's healthy and happy, and ready for his forever home. If you’re looking for a little buddy who just needs a bit of love and patience to shine, Stark might be your perfect match. 💛 Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6830ae072f41d7ea4f009069 Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? Story
**Now fostered in Seattle, Washington and ready for meet and greets** Meet Hugo – the tiniest gentleman with the biggest ears and even bigger eyes! At just 3 months old and a whopping 4 pounds, this cream-colored Chihuahua mix is pint-sized perfection wrapped in adorableness. Hugo may be small, but he’s got a heart full of love and those classic puppy dog eyes that could convince anyone to hand over their snacks, their lap, or their heart. He’s all ears—literally—and every head tilt is a direct shot to the soul. Fostered in Seattle with an experienced foster dad and a pack of other pups, Hugo is soaking up life in the city and learning all the good doggy basics. He’s young, so he’ll need a family ready to continue his training and socialization, but this little guy is already proving to be a fast learner. Hugo is wonderfully adaptable and would thrive in all sorts of homes—whether you're in an apartment or a house with a yard, looking for a buddy for your current dog or dreaming of a one-and-only cuddle bug. He’s tiny enough to tote around but sturdy enough to play and explore. With his sweet nature, we think Hugo could do well with cats and respectful kiddos who understand just how delicate a pup his size can be. Ready to fall in love? One look into Hugo’s soulful eyes, and you just might be smitten. We’ve even had many veterinarians adopt from us! Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. Your adoption fee goes beyond getting a fully vetted pet, it’s also a donation toward our mission of helping to solve the pet over-population crisis in TX. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8-week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 7-year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
