Story
By royal decree; I introduce: Princess Anastasia She is beautiful, spritely, charming, young, smart, and **floofy**! In legend, when the Bolsheviks stormed the Winter Palace, few of the royals escaped assassination. One was the young princess whose whereabouts have been the source of lore, intrigue, mystery, and an animated movie (with Meg Ryan as Anastasia). Well, I can say, with certainty that Anastasia is HERE! Right here, today, in Greeneville, Tennessee. The only true mystery is why this little foundling didn't get adopted during her stray hold or why her humans didn't come to save her 💔 She is affectionate, a bit shy and currently a little jumpy. But she is also young and playful and pretty smart. Her diminutive size makes her a great (if somewhat largish) lap dog, assuming she is up to such activity. We must keep in mind proper protocols to use with nobility! perhaps a Keeshond mix only on the small size of about 29 pds. She will be spayed , vaxed and hw status revealed in a week. Housebroken, good with other dogs for sure. Crate training in progress as is leash work. Fostered in Greeneville, TN. We will bring to Florida with a COMMITTED foster or a foster to adopt!!!!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This adorable little boy was picked up as a stray in Kentucky, so we know absolutely nothing about his past.  But we've learned a lot about him while he has been in our care!    He is very affectionate and loves to be with his human(s) at all times.    He's about 8 years old, and weighs 23#.   We think he prefers to be the only dog in the home.  Initially we thought he would probably enjoy having a canine friend to play with (one who will likely allow him to be alpha), but now we think he would prefer to be an 'only child'.   He's curious about cats, but hasn't bothered the cats in his foster home. Auggie does great on a leash, he's good in the car, house trained and will let you know when he has to go outside and potty.  He easily uses doggie stairs to get up into bed, and he's a great couch companion.  Like many Eskies, he is vocal and slightly demanding at times when he wants something.   He loves his food, and even loves frozen green beans as a treat!  He's currently on a prescription canned food to keep crystals from forming in his urine, which he loves.  It's readily available at Chewy and in pet stores.    (he has a written script for the food, which we will give to adopter).  He does best on soft and canned foods, due to the fact that he had severe periodontal disease when we got him.  He had multiple cracked, broken, and missing teeth, and the vet gave him a 4/4 score for his dental condition.  We usually see that when dogs have spent a lot of time chewing on kennel bars, or trying to eat rocks.   When Auggie had his dental done, most of his teeth were removed, and we're sure he's feeling so much better now because of that.   If you have any questions about Auggie, please contact Cheryl@eskierescuers.org.  Or complete our online Adoption Application, the link is part way down this page: https://www.eskierescuers.org/info/display?PageID=21057  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!                                                       December 1, 2025, 12:20 am

Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him/her. Princess is a wonderful dog who has been neglected a lot in her life. So it takes her time to adjust to new people, but once she does is the most loyal companion. Since we saved Princess from being put down by our local shelter she has taken to me and she is my loyal shadow. She will do best in a home where she can be with her owner most of the day. She does get separation anxiety but she does not destroy anything besides dog toys. She has a hilariously goofy personality. She is so very sweet and playing outside is her favorite. She loves fetch and she is very very smart and a quick learner. She has the option to sleep on the bed but prefers the floor. She loves doggy friends to play with as wellFor more information please contact   Lacielantroop@gmail.comRehoming fee appliesVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 6, 2025, 9:16 am
