Story
Hi, I'm Sugar... and yes, I'm just as sweet as my name! I'm a 3-year-old girl with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and one very important mission: finding my forever human. If you've ever wished for a shadow that has four legs and a wagging tail, I might be your perfect match. My favorite place in the world is right next to my person. Whether you're running errands, hanging around the house, or working from home, watching TV. I’m happily be your loyal sidekick. I love being active, but don't worry, I'm also a professional cuddler/couch potato. After a good walk, some playtime, or a training session, you'll usually find me curled up beside you soaking up all the attention. Speaking of attention... I should probably tell you that | LOVE being the center of it. What can I say? I've got star quality. One of my favorite things in life is FOOD. Treats? Amazing. Puzzle feeders? The best invention ever. Learning new tricks for snacks? Sign me up! I'm very smart and highly motivated if treats are involved, which makes training a lot of fun. I'm crate trained, mostly potly trained, and I do best when I'm let out regularly throughout the day. I occasionally have accidents if too much time passes, but I'm trying my best and thrive with a consistent routine. I've also overcome quite a bit already. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was dealing with a severe flea infestation that had caused some hair loss and skin irritation. Thanks to good care, lots of love, and time to heal, my fur has been growing back beautifully, and | look and feel better every day. My foster family says it's been amazing watching me blossom into the happy, confident girl I was always meant to be. Now for the honest part: I'm looking for a home that understands me. I can be a little protective of my food and special treats, but I do great with the trade method when asked to give something up. Because of this, I'd do best with people who will continue setting me up for success and make me feel secure around my meals. I'm not the biggest fan of kids, so an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy family members would be ideal. Im great with cats! Well, I actually just ignore them or curiously watch them from afar. As for other dogs, I can coexist with some, but I prefer slow introductions and clear boundaries. I shouldn't be fed alongside other dogs. Or I’d be perfectly happy as your only dog and the center of your universe. That would suit me perfectly fine as well.? What I'm really searching for is someone who will appreciate my loyal heart, my goofy side, my love of learning, and my unwavering dedication to being your very best friend. If you're looking for a dog who will love you with her whole heart, keep you company through every part of your day and happily work for snacks, I think that it is imperative that we meet immediately!
