Story
Jack Blades is fostered in South Haven, MI
Meet Jack Blades, the sweetest, most fun-loving little Pomeranian mix or Finish Spitz guy you’ll ever meet! (To be honest, we are not 100% sure what breed this little cutie, what we do know is he is sweet as pie and deserves someone that will love him for the rest of his life). Jack is just under 3 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. When he first came into rescue, he was very underweight and we’ve been helping him safely gain weight. He’s blossoming into the happy, playful pup he was always meant to be.
Jack Blades is currently living with two dogs and two cats in his foster home—and he does great with all of them! His ideal home would include another friendly dog, as he truly enjoys canine companionship and plays very nicely with his furry friends. Having a confident dog also helps him feel more secure in new situations. Also, a quieter household would likely be best for him.
Jack Blades has had zero accidents in his foster home and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He hasn’t chewed on anything he shouldn’t, and he’s proven to be a respectful little gentleman indoors. He happily sleeps in his crate at night—just say “go in your house,” and he trots right in and settles down without a peep. He eats his meals in his crate as well and will sit politely when he’s finished, waiting to be let out. While he does great crated at night, he’d do fine sleeping outside the crate—or even better, snuggled up in the big bed with you.
Jack Blades loves chasing balls and is learning to bring them back for another throw. He bonds quickly with his people and will gladly follow you around the house. He’s a low-to-medium energy pup who enjoys a walk or some playtime, but he’s just as happy curling up for a long nap or relaxing on the couch with you. He knows some basic commands and is very food- and attention-motivated, making him eager and ready to continue learning.
Jack has accompanied his foster family to dog-friendly stores a handful of times. He can be a little nervous with new people at first, but he gains confidence quickly—especially when he sees his foster dog siblings being brave. He’s also been making progress with being comfortable when his foster mom leaves the house. Whoever adopts Jack is going to be incredibly lucky. He is a truly special little boy who has completely stolen his foster mom’s heart.
Jack Blades is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.
