Story
Kincaid gives a whole new meaning to 'wide open' - he looks at everything as new and exciting! His combination of retriever goofiness and chow independence makes him a free spirit. He is looking for a partner who will train and engage with him respectfully. He also would enjoy a lot of time to run, roam, and explore on his own. A fine companion, he will be a good guardian of his home. He has not been compatible with other animals.  ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  Jul 2020 ~  Est weight:  60#  ~  Adoption details/application:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJanuary 22, 2025, 8:35 pm

Story
Meet Loofie – The Gentle Soul Finding Her Way  Loofie is a beautiful 5-year-old Black and Tan Hound/Lab mix who has come a long way on her journey to trust and love. Rescued from a hoarding situation, she’s finally discovering what it truly means to be a dog — to feel safe, cared for, and free to just be herself. Though shy at first, Loofie’s gentle personality shines brighter each day. She’s incredibly smart and eager to learn, and she’s made amazing progress since arriving at the rescue. With a little patience and love, she’ll continue to blossom into the loyal companion she’s meant to be. Loofie gets along well with kids and other dogs, but she would do best in a home without cats. She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and is heartworm negative. Adoption Fee: $250 If you have a kind heart and a little extra patience, Loofie will reward you with a lifetime of quiet, steadfast love.October 18, 2025, 10:22 am

Story
Meet Oscar! Oscar is a gorgeous 4-year-old Lab/Rhodesian mix with a zest for life and a heart full of love. He originally came to the rescue as a young puppy with his siblings, was adopted, and later returned when life circumstances changed—through it all, Oscar has remained the sweetest boy. This big, handsome guy weighs about 80 lbs and has a unique look to his lower jaw. Oscar returned to the rescue with osteomyelitis in his mandible, possibly from an old injury. This condition is an infection of the bone and was successfully treated with antibiotics. While the infection is gone, it left behind some extra bone growth on his lower jaw. This does not cause him pain, and he does not need medication or ongoing treatment—it’s simply a cosmetic quirk that makes him extra special. Oscar is thriving now and is such a joy to work with. He is good with female dogs, cats, and kids, and best of all—he is HOUSEBROKEN! He has been neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and heartworm tested negative. His adoption fee is $250. Oscar is ready to finally find the forever home he deserves. Could that be you?November 21, 2025, 11:22 pm
