Story
𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃 🐾 We are so excited (and incredibly grateful!) to have received so many applications. Due to the overwhelming interest, we've decided to temporarily close applications while we take the time to carefully review each one. We will be reaching out to those we feel are the best fit, though please note we may not be able to respond to every application. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. 💛 -- Meet Ronnie 🐾 Ronnie is a 2-year-old Flat-Coated Retriever mix with a gentle heart and just the right amount of spunk. At 43 lbs, she's a great medium size gal, big enough to join in the fun, small enough to fit comfortably into everyday life. Ronnie is fantastic with other dogs and absolutely lights up around them. She approaches everyone with soft, playful energy and is always hoping to make a new friend. She's still learning how to pace her excitement, but her intentions are pure, she just really loves having a playmate. A home with another dog would be a big win for Ronnie and help her continue to build confidence, but could do without too if she had the ability to socialize often with doggy friends. She walks nicely on leash with a loose lead and enjoys getting out for strolls. When she sees other dogs, she may pull or bark with excitement, but it's all friendly enthusiasm. Ronnie has a medium-to-low energy level and is happy with shorter walks followed by downtime. At home, Ronnie is easy and low-maintenance. She is crate trained, settles quickly, and is comfortable being crated during the workday and overnight. She is non-destructive, quiet, and happiest relaxing near her people. House training is going well and continues to improve with routine. While she is 2, she's still learning what it's like to be inside a home after all Ronnie isn't demanding, she doesn't need constant activity or entertainment. What she really wants is connection. She loves being included, hanging out close by, and soaking up affection whenever it's offered. Ronnie would do best in a family home, ideally with confident kids and another friendly dog. She's kind, social, and ready to bring steady companionship and joy into her future home. If you're looking for a sweet, dog-friendly companion who just wants to be part of your world, Ronnie is ready to meet you. 💛

ADOPTION ALERT: STUNNING LONG AND LEAN AVAILABLE Meet Freddie - 65lbs of energy, enthusiasm and joy Birthday: Not quite sure but some time in October of 2024 Weight: A looooong and lean 65lbs Currently in Foster in Nelson, BC Who is he? an eager to please, clever goofball, extremely smart, food motivated, playful & enthusiastic, FAST... this boy can run...Loves routine! Skills include: - did we mention he is FAST! He would be GREAT at agility - 10/10 on the cuddle scale - a bit like a house alarm, will bark to alert you (with positive reinforcement he knows to cease when instructed) - 10/10 on bringing joy and enthusiasm to all things in life - plays well with other dogs after proper introduction - loves to learn and work - good with horses, chickens and cats - great in the car and is crate trained for short periods of down time (overnight he prefers his own bed or yours) Work in Progress includes: - can be reactive with new dogs if not introduced properly - shy when meeting new people or dogs - his early life in the shelter has caused him to be wary of strangers but once he knows you, he warms right up - trust is earned with Freddie, not given automatically Ideal home: - ideally with a doggie sibling who will tolerate his playful puppy-ness but could be an only dog as long as he had regular play dates - he loves routine - rural setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life - fenced outdoor space he can safely explore - people who will worship him and make him feel safe and loved - humans with experience with shy dogs who can boost his confidence - a life that offers adventure and allows him to grow into the amazing dog he is becoming - a home willing to continue his raw feeding Medical Flex: - he is healthy, raw fed and has delayed neuter to allow his growth plates to close Freddie’s Dream: Find a human who loves him as much as he loves to run! Someone who will be patient with him as he finds his way and overcomes “stranger danger” and loves to cuddle on the couch.
