Story
Baby came into the shelter as a stray who unfortunately was never claimed by her previous owners, While we are sad that no one ever came for her, we are hopeful that her stay at the shelter will be short and she will find her forever family soon. Baby is one of those shelter dogs who really knows how to pull on heartstrings. The way she presents herself so gently and sweetly to visitors makes it hard to believe she's even been passed up this long! Baby has one of the sweetest demeanors and is adored by every one she meets! She has the cutest awkward puppy smile and body wiggles. Not only is she adorable, but she's goofy! Even on the darkest days, we know Baby can bring a nice light to any family that needs a furry companion they can love and trust. She isn't a good fit for a home with other dogs , but would be a good fit for a home with kids or elderly! Baby is gentle, but does have a few bad manners such as jumping up on people, but she's very receptive and we think this could be trained out easy. Please consider adopting Baby into your family! Baby is 10 months old and weighs 38 pounds at this time. She may weigh around 45 pounds as an adult, She has been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites and is heartworm negative. Story
Please meet adoptable Tibbs! As you can probably guess from his name, Tibbs was found as a stray on Tibbs road here in Haywood County. He is yet another pup whose owners never attempted to claim him, and now that his stray hold is up, this guy is ready to find a forever home! It is a mystery how Tibbs would've become separated from his previous owners in the first place. He is an INCREDIBLY loyal dog who never likes to leave your side. He even gives hugs! Tibbs loves people of all shapes, sizes and varieties. While some dogs are easily excitable and may be jumping all over the place all the time, Tibbs is laid back and just wants to be close to you. We could see him lounging on the couch with you while you binge watch your favorite Netflix show. Due to his sweet nature and gentle disposition, we could see him making an excellent therapy dog or emotional support animal as he LOVES socializing and could bring a smile to even the saddest of faces. He is also a great match for children or elderly. A home with other dogs would be no issue for Tibbs as he gets along with every dog that we've ever introduced him to. Tibbs leads relatively well on a lead, and is motivated to learn anything you may wish to train him. PLEASE consider coming and meeting this guy, you won't leave without him!    Tibbs is about two years old and 70 pounds at this time. He has been treated for internal/external parasites, vaccinated and has tested NEGATIVE for heartworm disease in shelter.     December 25, 2023, 12:06 am

Story
Meet Casanova!  Casanova was found as a stray in Haywood County and was never reclaimed by his previous owners. While we wish he could be reunited with his previous family, we know that there is likely a fantastic family out there who would love give him a home for the holidays! Casanova adores people, but doesn't know how to express that sometimes due to being a anxious pup. You can tell that he would LOVE to run up to everyone he meets and beg for pets, but he just seems to have been mistreated in the past so he holds back or cowers down. Trust is important for Casanova, and once he knows that you aren't going to hurt him... he's all over you and ready to be good friends! He loves to lean up on your legs to receive ear scratches, and is like a little shadow the way he follows people around. Casanova is a gentle guy with pretty good manners and an ability to melt anyone's heart! The shelter is a scary environment for any dog, and we think that this guy will really shine as a dog once he gets out of here. There's just so many people, noises and dogs barking all the time that it makes it hard for him to feel safe. He is a wonderful dog who would do great in a home with other dogs, cat and kids if someone will just give him a chance!    Casanova is 10 months old and 50 pounds at this time. He has been treated for internal external parasites, has been vaccinated and is heartworm NEGATIVE! December 25, 2023, 12:06 am
