Story
Barney is an affectionate, sweet boy. Probably not a year old and loves to play. He has that wonderful hound voice but he's not obsessive with it. He does well with other dogs, he's not familiar with cats but plays to hard with chickens. He's very smart and has learned a few basic commands. He would be a loyal companion for a little love. For more information on Barney and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612.  July 21, 2024, 4:38 pm

Story
Kimber is a 6 year old Bloodhound and an absolutely wonderful companion. She is a fast learner with a solid foundation of trained behaviors: Walking to heel, sit, leave it, find it (she doesn’t play fetch but loves to find a treat in the grass!) and “go play” which is the release command that lets her sniff around to her heart’s content. She enjoys the dog park but is still learning not to pull towards other dogs while she’s on a leash. She’s curious when meeting people and affectionate once she knows them; it took about a month for her to be comfortable in my home, now she sleeps in my bed. I am heartbroken that my life circumstances are preventing me from offering the home she deserves, but I have no doubt that she will bond just as well with her new owners. She is big and strong with some resource guarding behaviors that haven’t been an issue with adults who give her space but aren’t suitable for young children (under 12.) She would also like to be the only dog in the home.
