Story
Rosie is the perfect mix of love, loyalty, and spunk, with a big personality that shines through in everything she does. She’s expressive and affectionate—nudging for attention, curling up beside you on the couch, or even squeezing between your legs for a stand-up snuggle-hug—and she’ll “talk” like Scooby-Doo when she has something on her mind. Smart and eager to please, Rosie learned “sit” right away and is very trainable with food or affection. She’s completely housetrained, can hold her bladder all day, and does well left loose in the home. Rosie enjoys walks and dog-park play, but she likes to be in charge and can resource guard food, water, or toys, so she’ll thrive with an experienced owner who can set clear boundaries. She’ll do best in a cat-free home and with children over 10, since she’s protective of her family and can get mouthy when she plays. Rosie is also a vocal girl—she’ll bark to alert you of visitors and keen for a few minutes when left alone—so she needs a home where her voice won’t be a problem, though her big bark makes her a reassuring walking companion. She is finishing up heartworm treatment and will soon be ready to shower her forever family with devotion, fun, and the warm, wiggly love she brings to everyone she meets. ✅ Loves to play & be active ✅ National Canine Karaoke Champion - no apartments ✅ Fenced yard preferred for ample romp time Rosie was found as a starving young mother dog with four puppies that she was desperately trying to care for. She was brought into rescue along with her beautiful babies who have all been adopted. Now it's mama's turn for her happy ever after! Rosie is a Foxhound who was was born approximately 6-01-23 and weighs 75 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Rosie has completed heartworm treatment and must remain on monthly heartworm preventative (as all dogs should) and needs an adopter who will commit to being ontop of that for her. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Our Adoption Team will respond via email from DollysLegacyAdoptions@gmail.com once you have completed an application. If a pet is still listed, it is not yet adopted as we update daily. Story
Courtesy Post Clay is an affectionate and sweet 3-year-old Basset Hound who truly believes he’s a 10-pound lap dog, despite his 65-pound body. He loves to cuddle, enjoys long walks, and has a goofy, playful personality. His favorite toys are anything cloth—he’ll proudly carry around towels and loves sneaking off with socks to hide them. Clay is smart, routine-oriented, fully potty trained, and kennel trained. He does well around both dogs and cats and enjoys calm, structured environments. Clay forms deep bonds with his primary caregiver, and this has led to some protective behavior toward his female owner. When she is present, Clay has shown hostility toward his male owner. This has included growling, lunging,  but did not break the skin. Outside of those specific situations, Clay is gentle and loving. Because of this, Clay would thrive best in a single-owner home or with an adopter experienced with protective or resource-guarding behaviors and one committed to training. In the right environment, Clay has the potential to be an incredibly devoted and affectionate companion. No kids.   There is a $100 adoption fee.   Please email us at midwestdogrescuenetwork@gmail.com for an application.  All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.December 9, 2025, 11:32 am
