In addition to all the groceries he wants, he enjoys attention, and is familiar with a collar and leash. He is extremely happy to be in a foster home where he is part of a fun “pack” of hounds who have a fenced yard, plenty of exercise time, and sunshine for a relaxing break during his busy day. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.When Gregory arrived at the shelter as a stray, he was focused on food--when would he get more? -- and had no use for posing for photos. However, once he knew the grub was on schedule every day and his belly was full, he was happy to see us and the camera! He visited the other dogs and is happy to be in a foster home now, where he shares food and lots of running room with four other dogs!  Gregory will not go hungry while he is in our care, and now that he has been neutered, microchipped, and is fully vaccinated, he is happy to be part of the hound dog pack at his foster home! We often recommend hounds to families looking for laid-back and easy-going dogs for their kids to dote upon and grow up with, as most have gentle personalities and want to be loved! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Dr. Pepper is two and a half years old but has an old-school hound vibe. When he came to us a year and a half ago he was very shy and took a long time to trust people. He has many people and dog friends now, and once he knows you and trusts you he is quite the snuggler. He waits patiently for that perfect person to come take him home. He is a very reasonable guy, will walk calmly on lead, and isn’t much of a crooner. Dr. Pepper loves to be stroked on his head and face-- of course he enjoys body rubs too. He plays with the toys in his room and kennel. Dr. Pepper regularly goes to daycare at Camp Merricks and enjoys running around with other dog friends. He LOVES to play with other dogs. And often doesn't want to return to the shelter. He will need a little time and patience to adjust to his new home, but this handsome boy is totally worth it! Say hi to Jolly! This sweet hound has been in foster and this is what his foster dad says about him: "He's definitely a gentle soul and is great around other dogs. He's a bit shy at first but warms up pretty quickly. Very playful and energetic but also can be very calm. He's a fast learner and does well with routine. (I've taught him how to stay out of the kitchen when I'm cooking.) He's been playing with toys but he and my resident dog Charlie have yet to engage in play. He loves being outside, I think a yard is essential. He does like his crate but prefers sleeping on the couch." This guy has so much love to give but has been waiting TOO long for a forever home. He is housetrained, crate trained, and 100% American Fox Hound according to his DNA test. Give this perfect hound a chance!
