Story
MEET SNICKERS & BUDDY!!! I’m Snickers, and I have a brother named Buddy. I’m 13 years old, weigh around 30 lbs, and I’m a mix of German Pinscher and who knows what else. Buddy’s 6, weighs about 60 lbs, and is a yellow Rhodesian Ridgeback/Lab mix. We used to live with our dad, but one day he left, and things got pretty strange after that. His kids visited, and before we knew it, we were at a new place, far from everything we knew. First, we lived with a lady, and then we ended up with our current foster mom. It was a lot of change, but I’m glad Buddy was with me through it all. At foster mom’s house, there was this thing that wasn’t a dog… at least, I didn’t think it was. It was weird, kind of scary, and I thought I should protect my foster mom from it. So, I barked. A lot. It made this hissing noise that only made me bark more. Foster mom kept telling me to stop and be nice, but I wasn’t so sure. I tried to chase it out a couple of times, but it just wouldn’t leave. Eventually, foster mom told me it was a cat and that it wasn’t going anywhere, so I decided I’d just have to live with it. Now, it cuddles with me sometimes, so I think we’re okay. I recently had a dental and they pulled some of my teeth, but now they are squeaky clean and I’m much happier. At night, I love curling up in foster mom or dad’s lap to sleep. Falling asleep with a good cuddle is the best thing ever. Sleeping is definitely my second favorite thing after adventures. Now, I guess I should tell you about Buddy… Buddy’s had a rough time. A while back, he hurt his leg or hip or both, and now he walks a little funny. He likes to pretend that he can’t jump or run sometimes, but he’s totally faking it. Buddy can jump high and run really fast when he wants to. Foster mom thinks he may need help staying mobile as he gets older. Buddy doesn’t like it when foster mom or dad leave. He gets really anxious and starts barking. He’ll stop when he’s told to though… most of the time. He loves playing with toys, especially the balls, and he’s also the champion of tug-of-war. No one has ever beaten him, not even foster dad or Palomo, the big German Shepherd. He has a chicken toy that he brought from our old home, and he’s not too happy when the other dogs play with it, but they do anyway. Buddy loves long walks too. Foster mom sometimes lets him off-leash when we are in the desert because he stays right by her side and checks in on her all the time. He’s really protective and responsive like that. Buddy’s also really good about not barking at strangers when we’re out. He’ll only bark at them when we’re home. He is always keeping the home very safe, even from the reflections of the TV people in the windows. Foster mom says when we find our forever home, we’ll still get to stay together. And I’m really happy about that. Do you think you’d want to be our forever home? We’d love to meet you!   If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com.September 10, 2025, 6:51 pm
