Story
Raya is the best dog you'll ever have. She is a 3 yr old German shepherd mix (DOB 4/1/20). She loves loves loves kids and would thrive in a home with a few. She is good with other dogs and cats. Raya is crate, leash and house trained. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home. Raya would even be great as a therapy dog (not to be mistaken for a service dog) due to her love of kids and people.

Story
Maike came to me at just 5.5 months old. She has been loved and cared for since. She's been around my cat and my two kids and loves everyone and everything. She's so gentle and sweet. My life has taken a turn for the worse and now it is just me and her at home. I work long hours throughout the day and she's alone most days. I want her to go to a new forever home where she will be loved and cared for the way she deserves. I'm sorry that I can't be that for her now. I will always love and miss her but I'm doing what I believe is best for her future. Please help her.

Story
Amara is 7, akc registered purebred German shepherd, amazing with children and not ok with other dogs, especially females. Amara is alpha and she acts like it. Amara does currently get along with our male shepherd but not our female Doberman whom she's grown up with since they were both puppies, something flipped and she attacked her multiple times and it gradually got worse. Amara is amazing and has grown up with children all her 7 years of life and has never bit a human being. please let me know if you're interested in Amara and I will send you more information. she must go to a home without other dogs. she seems to be OK with cats.

Story
Ember is ready to find her forever home. We are currently looking for a foster to adopt home in which she can finish her fast kill heartworm treatment. Ember is energetic, kennel trained, eager to learn and please her human. She has great recall and loves tennis balls. **Breed experience required** If you are not an experience GSD owner, we ask that you do not apply for Ember. We do believe she would do best in a home without small children as she is still learning proper manners. Ember was pulled from a terrible living situation and does have separation anxiety. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHRA/Dog *All adoptable animals have been spayed/neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm tested (when age-appropriate), microchipped, vet checked, dewormed, and kept on monthly preventatives while in our care. **All adoptables are listed as not housebroken. It is common for dogs/cats to have accidents when adjusting to a new home and schedule.

Story
UPDATE!!&#226&#156&#168 Handsome Kip is the last of our German Shepherd Bottle babies looking for a home. We got this boy when he was just days old and now he’s 7 weeks and thriving. He is a purebred German shepherd we are told but we have no paperwork just pictures of the parents and their paperwork. He will be a BIG boy and German shepherd experience is a plus. He’s grown up with all other animals and kids. He’s very well socialized and prespoiled! He will be ready in just a few weeks once he can have his second round of vaccinations and he’s altered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Huck! This sweet boy is being surrendered because their living situation has changed and they can no longer keep him. He’s a gorgeous lab shepherd mix. He’s around 9-12 months. He’s a your typical young lab/shepherd… active and bores easy if left unattended too long. So we recommend crating if not home. He’s great with kids and other dogs. He utd, hw neg (tested below set eagle levels) and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained.
