Story
Gypsy is about 2 years old and Loves attention, especially belly rubs. Knows the sit command and learning other commands. Walks good on a leash, gets along with other dogs and people of all ages, and has been around pigs and chickens that were in pins without a problem. Loves the outdoors but gets nervous about being inside. She's active (bouncy) but also gentle, lovable, and would be very loyal to someone who treats her well. If you have any questions about this sweet pup or would like to meet please contact ICARE at 870-368-5000. Story
Sasquatch – Big Heart, Big Presence Sasquatch is a striking Great Dane and German Shepherd mix with a calm, easygoing personality. He’s a little shy when you first meet him, but once he knows he can trust you, he becomes a loyal and affectionate companion. He enjoys playing fetch, stretching his legs, and exploring the outdoors. Sasquatch gets along great with other dogs and would thrive in a home with plenty of space to run and play safely. He came in with his brother, Buddy. While they love each other, Sasquatch would also do well on his own. If someone adopts them both, ICARE offers a special two-for-one adoption deal. Sasquatch is neutered, vaccinated, and fully recovered from bladder stone surgery. He’s healthy, strong, and ready to find his forever home. Location: ICARE Shelter – 214 Circle Dr, Melbourne, AR Hours: Saturdays, 9 AM to noon Apply: www.icarearkansas.com/application Once your application is received, we’ll contact you to schedule a convenient time to meet Sasquatch.

Story
Meet Charlie! Charlie has not lived an easy or comfortable life. His front teeth are filed down to the gums. Sometimes this can be from eating rocks, or chewing on the bars of a kennel but it's likely we will never know the cause. He was found in the yard of a newly bought house. After asking questions around the neighborhood, the new owners found out that he was left behind when the old owner moved out. That's when he was brought to the shelter. When we began doing some health screening to work on his teeth, they found out that he is also Heartworm positive. A volunteer took pity on this sad boy and took him home to foster. After a round of antibiotics and pain killers, we realized that his teeth are functional and don't seem to cause him any pain when eating a diet of soft food. The vet agreed that the best course of action is to deal with any issues with his teeth as they arise. Charlie has been undergoing his heartworm treatment like a champ! He got his last injection this week and will have a follow up appointment in a month to make sure that he is heartworm negative. Charlie is around 7-8 years old and weighs in at just under 100 pounds. He's a chunky boy! He does fine with other laid back, friendly dogs and with a slow introduction has had no issues... ALTHOUGH he much prefers the company of cats of any age. Cats are his spirit animal and he loves to cuddle them. He has lived with kittens and senior cats and doesn't discriminate in his love for them. He is housebroken and doesn't have accidents inside. He prefers to be inside with his human and doesn't much like being outside. His current foster lives in an apartment and that life seems to suit him just fine. Charlie has a nervous nature and doesn't do well on a leash or with new adventures. He prefers a life of routine, consistency and as little excitement as possible. Charlie wants a boring life. A boring life full of love, snacking and tons and tons of snuggles. If this sounds like a life you can provide to this sweet boy, please reach out for a meeting!
