Story
Hello there. My name is Portia and I’m a mature, big-hearted gal (literally and figuratively) with a whole lot of love to give. My adoption fee is sponsored!! Here’s what you need to know about me: I’m past all that puppy chaos. You won’t find me chewing your shoes or having accidents on your rug. I am fully crate trained and housetrained, and once we’ve had our morning walk and breakfast, I am very happy to settle down quietly and just... be with you. I’m calm, quiet, and I don't make a fuss. My absolute favorite things are our walks! I am very attuned to my people. However, I do pull a bit so we will need more practice together. I am very responsive to treats though which is super motivating. I love space to walk without getting derailed by a ton of other dogs and cats. A rural area or lake area could be ideal! I’ll check in with you on our walks, and I’ll curl up nearby when you’re reading or watching TV. I just want to be your loyal companion. Now, I need to be honest with you about a few things, because a good relationship starts with trust. I want to be your only pet. I do not like other dogs, cats, or any small furry creatures. And while I’m sweet and affectionate with adults, a home with children is not for me. I will thrive in a calm, predictable home where I can relax and know I’m safe. I know that might sound like a lot, but here’s what it means for the right person: you get all of me. No competition, no chaos. Just a steady, loving, gentle giant who thinks you hung the moon. If you're a single person or a couple without other pets or kids, and you're looking for a low-to-moderate energy walking buddy who will be your devoted shadow, I think we could be a perfect match. Could you be my fresh start?

Story
Desi is a goofy, affectionate girl with a heart as big as her personality. Everyone who meets her comments on just how sweet she is — and it’s true! She absolutely adores her people and wants nothing more than to be close to you. If you sit down in a recliner, don’t be surprised if Desi hops right into your lap for a cuddle. She may not realize her size, but in her mind she’s definitely a lap dog!Desi is fully house trained and kennel trained, and she rides beautifully in the car. She is deaf but has adapted incredibly well and takes her cues from her people with enthusiasm and trust. She’s still working on her leash manners and can be reactive on walks, so she’ll need a patient and committed family who will continue helping her build skills and confidence as she learns to be a great canine citizen. With slow introductions and clear boundaries, Desi does well with other dogs. She can also live with cats and respectful children when introductions are handled thoughtfully. She’s playful in a delightfully goofy way and brings so much joy to everyday life.Desi will thrive in a home that embraces her quirks, supports her continued training, and welcomes a loving, cuddly companion who wants to be involved in everything you do.PLEASE NOTE: To meet our adoptable dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We don't have a public shelter, so this is the first step to meeting your new furry friend!

Story
Scar is a handsome dude with a not-so-nice start to life. He was trapped when he was 5 months old cause he had never been socialized or the owner never spent time with him, just fed him when he could. He has been in our care for a year and has come a looong ways! Scar is good with people, still skiddish sometimes but overall has turned into a pretty happy boy. Loves the outdoors and other dogs. Better off in a home with another dog and a quiet home.

Story
If you’re looking for a loyal shadow with a big heart, Phannee might just be your girl. This sweet Shepherd mix absolutely loves being with her people and is happiest when she’s part of whatever you’re doing—whether that’s going for a walk, playing with the kids, or relaxing at home. Phannee walks nicely on a leash and is both house trained and kennel trained, which makes settling into a new home much easier. Like many happy pups, Phannee can get a little excited when greeting people and is still working on keeping all four paws on the ground. With a bit of consistency and love, she’ll keep improving every day. Phannee may do best in a home without cats, but she has so much love to give to her humans. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will stick by your side and fill your home with love, Phannee is ready to find her forever family.
