______________________ Intake Date: 14 July 2023 ----- Age at Intake: 8 wks ----- Breed: Shepherd/Collie mix ----- Estimated mature Size: 50 lbs ----- Status: Owner Surrender ----- Compatible with: Dogs, cats, children. ----- Suitable for: home with a fenced yard ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: None noted----- Additional Notes: Welcome Blaine. One of our "Precious People Pups" named after silent heroes in our lives, Blaine is named after "Blaine or Billy Boy. Blaine was my adopted dad's dad, and became my grandpa. Hard working, kind, gentle man, great sense of humor. Billy Boy or Bill was a grandpa to me but no relation and the sweetest and kindest man. he was so fun and amazing to a kid of a single mother (pre adopted dad marriage)". So meet Blaine! He came to rescue with his siblings and mother. He came with ticks, fleas, mange, and malnourished at just 8 weeks old. He has been recovering so well in rescue. He is such a little love! We absolutely adore his personality and he will be an amazing best friend for someone if they open their heart to him. He will need continued training and socializing as he is a puppy so he grows into a well adjusted adult. Please only apply if committed to his growth for the rest of his life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. Adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is mandatory.

He gets along well with our other resident (3) dogs both big and small. If the elder dogs tell him when they need space, he understands and leaves them alone. He traveled well with his foster brother to the lake and walks great without pulling much on the leash. Carpenter has been around children of all ages and does great and loves being pet. If you leave your seat unattended he may jump in and steal it. Carpenter came to us with some marking tendencies which we are working on and hoping will go away now that he is neutered. Carpenter is very treat motivated, he has learned to sit, lay, roll over and is working on shake and stay. Carpenter hangs out in his crate during the day in the same room as one of his foster brothers and does great. He typically sleeps with us in bed or in his dog bed next to our bed. I think he would love to have a friend in the home to play with but I also think he would do just fine on his own with someone that would give him the attention he deserves. He is still a puppy and gets excited when he sees another dog or when someone comes over and may jump up, so he will need his adopter to continue to work on redirecting. You will not be disappointed when you meet Carpenter! To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org September 20, 2023, 8:50 pm

Story
This handsome boy was roaming for weeks and no one knew who he belonged to. The residents all referred to him as “wolfie”. A Good Samaritan was finally able to catch him after some coaxing with “cheese”, hence his name They took him in and held onto him for as long as they could, then they asked us for help! We’re still getting to know him, but a few things we know so far He loves kids, but maybe a little too much. He is still somewhat nippy and puppy like, so he loves to chase them around, play with their toys, and give them all the slobbery kisses! Cheese is a little nervous around other dogs right now, but deep down he wants to be their friend… at his own pace. If they bark, he runs and hides. We’re working on it! He is great on the leash and walks wonderfully. He will use a dog door and he puts himself in his crate when he is either ready for bed or needs a break. His zoomies are awesome! He will romp around the yard chasing toys and eating grass, then go find a cool spot to take a quick snooze in Cheese puts everything in his mouth. Socks? Tennis ball? Shoes? Towel? They’re his now He is almost guaranteed to be your little shadow once he connects with you Cheese is roughly 6 months old and some sort of Shepherd mix. He is neutered, vaccinated, and chipped Now all he needs is his forever home! ##1780172##

Foster Home Feedback  ** NO Cats! Resource guards food and toys 06/21/2023 Volunteer Feedback: I got to hang out with this big goofy boy last night during a shelter shift. Cain is such a happy guy, especially when there's a tennis ball or the grunting ball being thrown for him. His favorite game last night though was to put the tennis ball into the pool for me to get and then throw for him. He was pretty vocal when we first showed up and didn't immediately take him out of his kennel for attention, but did quiet down after he got to run and get dinner. I just love how his tongue hangs out the side of his mouth when he gets excited.  05/23/2023 Foster Feedback: Cain says "Forget Ryan Gosling, they should have cast me as Ken in the new Barbie movie." I mean, have you SEEN a more hunky blonde in all of your life? Cain is a high energy guy who loves squeaky toys, benebones, and playing with his foster sister. He's kind of a pest (though he does take direction from other dogs well) so grumpy old dogs need not apply. A patient dog who can match his energy or an active family who is committed to providing regular enrichment (walks, training, hiking, car rides) would be ideal.  So far Cain is still learning the ropes of what it means to be a family pet. He had one accident in the house but he is learning to ring bells to go outside. He will go in a kennel if a treat is thrown in, and he slept quietly in there overnight. He does make noise while crated if he can hear others in the home, and he'll sing the song of his people if you take too long opening the crate door after arriving home.  Cain does have to work on some manners (such as patience at meal times, not counter surfing, and overexcitability/jumping) and hasn't quite figured out how to be a lap dog yet, he will just sit in front of you staring. Not to mention that he tends to take the word "throw" in "throw pillows" literally as he flings them off the furniture with his head (it's actually quite impressive). When he wrestles with his foster sister, it's no holds barred and nothing will stand in his way: not furniture, not curtains, not chairs. So, if you need a handsome, high energy, gym bro of a dog in your life, Cain is THE dog for you! 5/21/2023 Volunteer Feedback: Cain was 100% a good boy at the Leela and Lavendar dog adoption event. He was full of energy and was super interested in the other dogs. He didn't show any aggression and just wanted to play. He did jump up quite a bit though and was redirected with some success. He met 2 little kids and was gentle with them. He gave many kisses and the tail didn't stop wagging. Cain did well on the car ride too, though I do not recommend the windows to be down too low in fear that he would jump out. He had a pup cup from Scooters and seemed to really enjoy that. If I could, I would totally foster him, but I have 3 dogs of my own. He is such a sweet boy and I hope he finds forever home soon, I love him!To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org September 20, 2023, 8:50 pm
