Why Harlow Could Be the One for You: Loyal & Sweet: True to her German Shepherd nature, Harlow will form a deep, unbreakable bond with her family. Active & Playful: She enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking, long walks, and spirited games of fetch—perfect for active individuals or families. Best as a Solo Dog: While Harlow is friendly with other dogs, she would thrive as the only dog in a household where she can have all the love and attention to herself. Big Heart: Despite her strength and intelligence, Harlow has a tender, affectionate side. After a day of fun, she’ll happily curl up by your side. Needs a Present Family: Harlow does experience separation anxiety, so she’s looking for a home where her humans can provide plenty of company, structure, and reassurance. Story
Shaggy is a 4-year-old German Shepherd with a heart as big as his beautiful, soulful eyes. This classic shepherd boy may take a little time to trust, but once you're in his circle, you're really in – and it’s worth every moment of patience. When Shaggy decides you’re his person, get ready for full-on lovebug mode: leaning his entire body against you for affection, and his signature move – gently sticking his head between your legs to ask for love. (Yes, it’s as sweet as it sounds.) One of Shaggy’s greatest joys? Water! Whether he's sprinting around the yard or splashing in his pool, Shaggy lives for playtime in the water. After his pool adventures, he’s all about lounging and relaxing – a perfect mix of active and chill. He’s fabulous on a leash and enjoys walks with his trusted humans. Like many dogs with a tough past, Shaggy appreciates his space and will growl if he feels uncomfortable – a totally normal way for dogs to communicate. He just asks for respect and understanding. Because he’s protective of his space, Shaggy would do best in a calm, adult-only home with no cats or other dogs. His ideal match? A confident, patient, and dog-savvy person who will give him the time he needs to feel safe, and the love he’s been waiting almost a year for. Shaggy didn’t have a good life before he came into rescue, and he’s been waiting over 300 days to find his person. He’s ready for a second chance. Could that person be you?

Story
Blanche and Tash are a stunning pair of white German Shepherd/Husky mixes who share a beautiful bond. They’re currently living together and make a great team, but they can be adopted separately to the right homes. Blanche (female) is the social butterfly of the two. She's affectionate, playful, and loves to cuddle. Her friendly nature makes her an instant favorite with people. Tash (male) is a little more reserved but deeply loyal once he connects with you. He leans on Blanche for confidence and guidance, and together they balance each other beautifully. The adoption fee includes: Vaccinations (Rabies, Leptospirosis, Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis/Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Lyme) Bloodwork (Testing for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Deworming Spay/Neuter Microchipping Each pup goes home with: A leash and collar A toy A small bag of kibble At Nakoma Rescue, we treat every dog like family, putting time, care, and love into each one. Story
Meet Sahara!  I am playful, curious and attentive. I love people and get along well with my select group of furriends. It's best to keep me away from cats and other small creatures, I just can't kick my predatory instincts!  While I'm friendly to most dogs, I have a hard time sharing and can get upset if another dog touches my stuff. I think I'd like to be your one and only pet. Breed: Dutch Shepherd, approx 70lbs DOB: 2023
