Story
11 year old purebred German Shorthaired Pointer. Owned since a puppy. Comes from a hunting bloodline. He is a sweet dog with an instinctive intelligence. I am looking to rehome Cooper with a loving family. Our life has changed to where he lost acreage and lives a more solitary life with increasing kennel stays. I have become convinced he deserves a better life where he is an integrated member of an active and loving family. Pros: Non-mischievous or destructive. Crate, e-fence, remote collar, and dog-door trained. House trained, loves being outside “hunting” at the park, hiking, camping, and running. Has been my running partner for years and still does 4+ mile runs. Cons: You must understand the breed needs a “job” or regular exercise.

Story
Clark has been a wonderful family dog and hunting companion. He has lived with us since birth and for five of those years we also had his litter mate brother, Lewis. We sold Lewis last year to someone who could hunt him more often than me. My thought was that I would be able to run and hunt Clark, that has not been the case. Clark needs room to run or be ran. The hard parts are these, Clark is aggressive towards small dogs and cats. Also he’s not house broken and at the time of this posting, unaltered. He is super sweet and loves hugs along with playing catch. He has never had any problems with humans including my two children who have played consistently with him.

Story
If Archie could talk, he would tell us his sad story. Found as a stray, this handsome German Shorthaired Pointer ended up at Oldham County Animal Control extremely emaciated. Emaciated to the point that his internal organs were shutting down. Emaciated to the point that he had eaten rocks, as many starving dogs do just to fill their stomachs. Our concern became getting him healthy again. Giving him nourishment and getting him up to a good weight was a slow process. Dogs who have been starved cannot be flooded with food. Archie, who now weighs over 55 pounds, stayed at our office under the attentive care of our Dog Team volunteers until he was strong enough to go into training in Camp K-9 at the Kentucky State Reformayory. Now at about 4 years old, he is healthy and thriving, and a beautiful specimen of a GSP.
