As she becomes more comfortable and familiar with her new surroundings in her foster home, her true personality is coming out and she is absolutely adorable! She has become an expert Lizard chaser as she can find them anywhere. She perks up as soon as she spies one and the chase is on or even hide and seek is fun to. We discovered Dixie’s playful drive at the Dogtoberfest held last weekend in Dunedin. Our tent location was facing the Lure course (flag on a remote control line and the dogs are stimulated chasing it) Yes Dixie most certainly had her turn and boy did she love it. She completed one entire circuit around the course. You go girl! Ha! As you can see, our darling lizard chasing lure coursing girl most certainly will enjoy an active household, and maybe one that will get her involved in some type of agility? We bet she’d love it! Dixie is still in search of her “Fur"ever home. If you are ready to welcome this sweet active girl into your heart and home, please visit our website VIPRescue.org to review her complete bio, and if you think you’d be the perfect fit for her, please fill out an adoption application as we’re sure Dixie would love to be settled in her new home for the Holidays! 11-13-25 Well hello there! I’m Dixie, a 7 year old 16lb Pommy mix girl! My human became ill and could no longer take care of me, and surrendered me to VIP Rescue. As soon as I got here, I went straight to the “dogtor” for a complete check up as I had never been to a place like that before. Thank goodness all is well and I’m ready to find my new human to share my life with! My ideal new place would a quieter, active adult home, no kids please, with someone who is home most of the time, either a retiree or maybe an adult who works from home, with a secure fenced yard. Foster Mom has other littles in the house, I like them, but I could also be your one and only and you can spoil me rotten. I get all kinds of excited when I hear Mom gathering the leashes for a walk, I really like that, cuz I get to do all the “sniffies” in the neighborhood and boy, do I like those! I’m working on “housebreaking” training, (whatever 🙃 lol) and am currently tinkle pad trained. I’m learning to go outside when we go on those awesome walks with foster Mom. Since I’m so cute and fluffy, keep in mind that I will need regular grooming appointments which can run anywhere from $60.00 and up each time, so please prepare that in your budget cuz that’s really important for me to have done. I’m spayed, current on my vaccines, had a recent dental, am microchipped and on flea and heartworm prevention as well. If you’re interested in me or in both me and my friend Daisy, please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. Hope to meet you soon! VIP Rescue reserves the right to approve or disapprove adoption applications submitted based on each dogs specific needs. If your adoption application is approved, you will be required to travel to the dogs foster home to meet the dog. Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 12-16 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pet’s estimated lifespan. All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue. As always, if you have any questions at all, feel free to email us at info@ viprescue.org Direct link: https://viprescue.org/dixie-redington-beach/ Application form: https://viprescue.org/application-to-adopt
