Looking for a loyal best friend who wants to be by your side through every adventure? Meet Archie, a handsome 68-pound Giant Schnauzer with a sleek black coat and distinguished touches of brown around his muzzle. He's as smart as he is handsome—and he's got a heart just as big as he is!
Archie is happiest when he's with his people. Whether you're heading out for a car ride (his favorite!), working from home, relaxing in the yard, or enjoying an evening on the couch, Archie wants to be right there with you.
Because he forms such strong bonds with his family, Archie would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day. A work-from-home parent, retiree, or someone with a flexible schedule would be his dream come true. He's not a fan of being crated and has proven to be quite the escape artist! He's also clever enough to let himself out through a patio door if left alone. Fortunately, he knows how to use a doggie door and enjoys coming and going to explore a securely fenced yard.
Archie absolutely loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to romp around with. He currently lives with a cat and mostly ignores it, although if the cat decides to sprint away, Archie can't resist giving chase. Slow, thoughtful introductions are recommended if there are feline family members in his future.
He's also wonderful with older children. Because of his size and enthusiasm, he may accidentally knock over little ones when he's excited.
Archie is still polishing his leash manners and can be a strong puller, but he does very well walking with a front-clip harness, which helps him stay focused and makes walks much more enjoyable.
What Archie loves most, though, is simply being with his family. He'll happily lean against you for pets, rest his head in your lap, and remind you every single day just how special the bond between a dog and their person can be.
