IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Lexi's Esme! Esme was born on 2/16/26. We guess Esme is a Schnauzer/Terrier Mix, but this is JUST A GUESS. Lexi is her mom and is about 20 lbs. We have included her pic. We have no idea on the Dad. Esme is the most independent of the pups and carries herself with quiet confidence. She’s incredibly smart and already a pro at using the pad—such a champ! She enjoys her meals and is perfectly content entertaining herself with her toys, making her an easygoing and self-sufficient companion. Esme requires an adopter who is home a good portion of the day to continue training—no exceptions. NOTE: The adopter is the one who needs to be at home a good portion of the day. This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be spayed/neutered at 6 months of age. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00 plus a $100.00 spay/neuter refundable deposit. ***Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old*** ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Sasha is a silly, spunky, and incredibly sweet girl who brings joy wherever she goes. From the very first day she met her foster family, she showed her warm and loving nature and she’s only continued to blossom more with each passing day.Sasha is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate. She loves cuddles (in short, happy bursts before she’s off on her next adventure) and will even try to “hug” you by standing up on her hind legs. Around the house, she enjoys following her people, joining in on playtime, and just being part of the action. This fun-loving pup is a big fan of walks and is learning great leash manners. She’s been practicing sitting at crosswalks and is making steady progress, though she may pull occasionally when something exciting catches her attention. Her foster`s say that `Sasha is highly treat-motivated. So much so that she’ll tolerate bath time in exchange for a few tasty rewards (even if she hops out of the tub once or twice!).`Playtime is one of Sasha’s favorite things. She loves tug-of-war, playing independently with her toys, and using her brain to sniff out hidden treats around the house. She’s even been working on her athletic skills and can now catch toys mid-air during fetch! Sasha is generally friendly with people and warms up quickly, though she can sometimes feel unsure when unfamiliar individuals approach in public. Because of this, she would likely thrive in a quieter home with older children or adults who can help her feel safe and supported.her foster`s noticed `When it comes to other dogs, Sasha shows mixed but promising signals. She often wags her tail when she sees other pups especially puppies but can occasionally feel unsure and may bark or try to approach them. Interestingly, she’s able to calmly pass many dogs on walks without reacting, even if they bark at her. With proper introductions and guidance, she may enjoy having doggy friends.` Sasha is doing wonderfully with her home routines. She sleeps well in her crate, keeps herself entertained, and patiently waits for her people in the morning. She’s had no accidents and will give subtle cues like sniffing her leash when she needs to go out, though she does best on a consistent schedule. She’s generally not very vocal, aside from excited moments like gearing up for a walk or during playtime.Like many young dogs, Sasha can feel a bit anxious at times, especially when left alone or crated overnight away from her people.
