Meet Gus Gus is a 6-year-old Golden Retriever and Husky mix looking for a loving home due to a family transition. Raised alongside four kids (ages 10 to 18), he is very calm, gentle, and easy-going throughout the day. He is completely trustworthy indoors and handles being left home alone for multiple hours without any issues. Gus loves a daily neighborhood walk, followed by hours of peaceful lounging around the house. He gets along well with most dogs and familiar people. However, Gus takes his guard dog role seriously. He has a loud bark and can show signs of aggression toward unexpected visitors, requiring structured, mindful introductions. He can also show unpredictability around some adult men. Gus will thrive best with an experienced owner who appreciates a loyal protector, manages visitor greetings with confidence, and provides a calm, predictable home environment.

I’m a 3-year-old Siberian Husky currently in California, and everyone who meets me seems to say the same thing: “He’s just the sweetest boy.” I love attention, giving kisses, and stretching out beside my people for some extra pets. I don’t need to be the center of everything—I just want to be included. I’m also a big fan of other dogs. I love to play and have been especially gentle with smaller dogs, adjusting my play style to match them. I’m good with kids, love people, and have a happy, gentle personality that makes me pretty easy to fall for. I came into the shelter as a stray and spent more than two months waiting. I even went through an injury involving another dog, but it never changed my sweet nature or my love for people. I’m still in California, but I’m ready to travel when my family finds me.
