Story
Meet La Plata County's most eligible bachelor! He's a big boy, but soft enough to be appropriate with all ages of people. Mooney's DNA test revealed he is 36% staffordshire terrier and 34% husky. Mooney will make the best friend for anyone lucky enough to call him theirs. He will be by your side for every adventure and lazy day. Mooney is a well-mannered boy who deserves the best! We love taking Mooney to special events, because we know he will do great! Mooney is great with kids and has even lived with cats. He walks well on a leash and knows basic commands.

Story
Cookie, in a word: FUN! He's an extremely happy and good natured guy who wants to be a friend to everyone he meets - dogs, cats, adults and kids. Cookie would thrive in a home that gives him some good exercise everyday (hiking, running, biking, skiing, etc) and is very relaxed in the house so long as he gets out for daily enrichment. He would adore a canine sibling that will play with him, and could benefit spending time with a dog that will confidently communicate and teach this big goofy teenager. Cookie is good with the cat in his foster home, and quickly learned to leave her alone. He's a confident guy who approaches new experiences eagerly and loves to do and learn new things. He's easy to train and is getting better with his leash skills and recall every day, and would excel in a home that continues to build his knowledge of commands and staying focused. Cookie crates easily, has been completely non destructive (he loves his chew toys but understands not to touch anything else), and appears to be 99% potty trained. He likes to follow his people around the house but isn't needy, and sleeps a lot. Cookie has a very gentle mouth and doesn't tend to jump up, and would likely be great with kids that are big enough not to be bowled over easily (he doesn't have much awareness of his body yet!). If you're looking for your next adventure buddy and social butterfly, Cookie would love to meet you!
